Civilization VI: How to reveal map?

I want to reveal map finding for a good start location?
How can i do that?

Are you asking for a cheat code? I don't know of any.

I'm not sure you can do that. A tip though, move your warrior first to reveal some more terrain before you settle. Moving him onto a hill will reveal more. As long as forest or jungle aren't obscuring his view.
The game does do a pretty good job of placing your initial settler on a good tile.

What button do you have to press to actually open the console? It doesn't say in the video, and for the life of me I cannot find it. -.-

EDIT: D'oh! I must be blind, it does say in the vid what key it is. Nvm this then...

That key doesn´t work for me, and neither the tilde or any other of the usual ones.

This thread isn't what I thought it would be.

I was thinking there should be some way to reveal map by the modern ages. It was strange I researched computers, but I still had no idea what the interior of the other continent looked like. It's like my leader has no ability to go into a book store and buy an atlas.

If you launch the satellite on your way towards science victory, the map gets revealed. In the past games, it was the satellite tech as well, but it's pretty cool that now you actuall have to launch the satellite.

Yeah but if not going for a space victory it seems pointless. Once I realized it was 3500 hammers to get that done, I gave up on the option of seeing the world before I won a cultural victory.

I find that most of the time I spawn in a decent location to settle in place. Sometimes it sucks but not often.

Hello guys, Im trying to open the console from 2 days. I modified the AppOptions file but my ² key doesnt work to open the console. I tried ~ aswell and couples of alt+ symbols.
Anyone can help me with this please ? :x

Step 1: Press F5 to quicksave.
Step 2: Run warrior and settler around.
Step 3A: Area sucks, start new game.
Step 3B: Area good, press F6.
