CIVplomacy in the Ten Tribes

A monument after the pyramid.
as an acolyte.

OOC : wouldn't it be better to get another warrior instead ?

That depends on our barbarian & neighbor situation, which is still pretty unknown.

bonefang: If you really support a warrior, there's no reason you shouldn't submit that action yourself. This is not an RPG, so there's no (systematic) reason to take actions that are against your personal interest only for the sake of playing a role. If you think Warrior is going to be better for our civ, then warrior away!

ooc: I support queuing a monument after the pyramid. and urge all acolytes, like minded persons, and persons who desire social policies sooner rather than later to support this measure.

What does this actually mean? There's no command or vote called about queueing the monument, so supporting it would be a meaningless action. Plus, you can only support actions by supporting those who make them, not by supporting the actions themselves (otherwise, if multiple folks take the same action, it would be unclear whose you're supporting).

(Unless GM Yahz says I'm wrong on this.)

You are correct in that you can only support another player, not just an action.

Fine, I order a monument to be built after the pyramid (or alternatively call a vote for it if ordering is prohibited by the rules)

There appears to be a problem with photobucket tonight, so more to follow tomorrow.

I commend SamSniped for entering the life of the hermit. The Yamabushi himself began as a hermit.

Spoiler Military Report :

Palenque Militia
  • 1st Company Warriors : Level 1 , Orders: "Explore South. Fortify until fully healed whenever damaged." Report: "Fortified and waiting for new orders."
    Spoiler 2nd Company Argument :

The commander of 2nd Company signalled STOP and leaned against a tree. "At rest, men, we've completed our mission. The area 5 hexes around our Northern sugar fields has been completely explored. Any signs of a runner from Palenque with new orders?"
    "No, Sir!"
"Well, then we rest. The elders will send new orders eventually."
The scouts of 2nd company begin setting up camp, grumbling about having nothing to do. A young recruit new to the unit hesitates. "Sir? Are are we really just going to sit here? Just just waiting and doing nothing?"
"I don't like it either, but what choice do we have? The elders provide the orders, we follow them. When we finish them, we wait for more. That is the way of things."
"But but maybe we could interpret our orders a little diffferently…."
"How so, recruit? Explore around the norrthern sugar is pretty clear. We will not disobey the elders."
"No, Sir! But but in our journey we've discovered sugar fields farther north, sir, maybe we should be exploring around them?"
    "SARGEANT!"
    "What were our orders?"
"Explore 5 hex radius around the northern sugar, sir!"
    "Which sugar, Sargeant?"
    "Well, our northern one, sir."
"The one just north of Palenque, or the northern most one we know of?"
"Well, uh, I guess its not clear sir."
"Better safe than sorry, we don't to upset the elders. Plus it beats just sitting here. Strike camp, men, we move north!"

  • 2nd Company Scouts : Level 1 , Orders: "Explore to reveal all lands in a 5-hex radius around our northern Sugar resource." Report: "After reviewing our orders, we've decided to continue North. We meet a band of Aztecs. The carry sticks long as ours, but much sharper on the ends."

Bah, I thought the session was ending tonight, not yesterday.

But it looks like we might have commanded just enough actions to be fine.

Don't die, little Scout!

Ceskari heard the report about the civilizations our brave warriors and scouts had discovered. He thought about ways to approach these nations for exchange of knowledge. If only there was a way to convey messages other than by word of mouth! The runners are just drones, repeating everything that's told, not pausing to reflect on the meaning of the messages. On the other hand, this "writing" thing seems to be going well, that might mean all the difference.

Just wondering if the Warriors should join the scouts and disperse the barbarian camp that was discovered. How about it?
