Civ's player Age

tell me about it! I can't get anyone from work to actually go have a beer and meet some women.

A sociable engineer! what? [--> quick! push him into management...]

Nah, the best thing to do is have a girlfriend who likes to play computer games also, then you're set!

Nothing like a friendly game of Diablo 2, Age of Kings, or any other game all without haveing to worry about the maturity level and intelligence of the person you're playing with because she's sitting next to you. :D

I'm 22.. first played Civ about 10-11 years ago. Eek, I was young :o

Ahh... the good ole days of RR Tycoon, Wolf and Civ... Them were some graphics :p (actually, I'm just as likely to play one of those, or nintendo emulation, as anything else)

Hey, honey, how old am I?

"36, dear."

And, uh... how long have we been married?

"Nine years, and you'd better not forget our anniversary!"

I suppose those kids are ours, too eh?

"You know we've got a 3 yr old daughter and a 2 yr old son, stop being silly."

Right, can I go play some Civ now?

"*sigh* Okay."

I am ageless for my soul has been everpresent since before time was time.

But in this life I've at the worst age there is: 20.

Moi? I'm 19 yrs. old, a univ student.
Played Civ2 to death, SMAC to death, Heroes of Might and Magic II&III to death, and Age of Empires series. Gotta love the strategy games, man!

*sigh* the bad side effect is addictiveness of the game..........'oh it's only 3 o'clock in the morning...i can play until 5 am' thing :( this sometimes messes up my brain so bad that i can't think or speak coherently:mutant:

let's see, 25, student working on 2nd degree, girlfriend back home and an "arrangement" with my ex-gf at school ;)
but, the only game i am addicted to is Civ (since Civ I, in 93)...however, i am addicted to computers in general (not that having 5 is an indication or anything :p)

16 years of age.

I haven't played civ in a while, it seems silly when civ3 comes out so soon. Not to mention the fact that I spend most of my free time reading in this forum. But come November & December...

Hey I'm 19 and I have been playing CIV from the beginning. I don't know when the first game was released, but I guess I was about 7. Try to beet that!!!!:D

Other than that I am a chemist:nuke: (student)and I do research on functional foods.
I've been thinking to change my profile name to beaker, just as my nickname.

Cool!
It's great that everyone talks about his history !

I glad to see that even If you got children , you can have time to
play civ series ! That is great!

I think I would not like my girlfriend want to play civ II ....
Because she will uses the computer and I would not be able to play! :)

I played Civ I since the beginner. I made a lot of game of Civ I because I want student at this time. For Civ II, I started to work so I had less time to play.

wow, i cant believe how old the average age is! no offence but i totally thought some of the people in here were younger than they are. young at heart eh! well im no spring chicken, im 82...
just kidin im 18 ;)

I am 35 and single and mostly sane. my dog doesn't care how much I play Civ as long as I remember to take her out now and then, and my cat bugs me until I let her play a turn and then all she does is keep trying to build 'The Sphinx' wonder...

I'm 24 and I have a girlfriend, together for 2.5 years. I have an obsession with video games, and I'm working on her, she has my gameboy, so it's a start. I'm still searching for the game that we can play together, she seemed to like Worms Armageddon. I think what she really likes is when she beats me.

I played all the first civ, and spent many a nights playing civ2 until the next day. These last 2 weeks have been so difficult :( , i can't wait for civ3 to come out. I may take a few days off of work in november to play :D

30 and married for a year. And I find that marriage and a full time job in front of a computer has definitely slowed me down as a gamer. There were years, particularly in the era of Civ1, when whole days and weeks slipped by in a slack-jawed, bleary-eyed stupor. I remember sitting around one summer day seriously pondering whether or not I should take the second summer session at the university, or just lay around and play civ for 6+ weeks.

Women are odd specimens and I feel that with some notable exceptions (some here in these forums) they just don't seem to GET it when it comes to civ. At one point in my only civ2 game since getting married I came out of the computer room muttering about the 'evil Carthaginians' and my wife looked up and said, consolingly, "it's just a game."

I don't play much of anything currently although I've been deliberately holding off to some extent, trying to build goodwill with family, friends and wife before disappearing into the chasm of civ3. But at my new pace I shall be content with 1 or 2 games a month.

My wife & I are both 23, and both huge fans of Civ.
Thank god for hotseat mode in Civ2 gold or we might constantly argue over computer rights:)
