Civ's player Age

I am 35, married (wife just turned 32 - she plays Civ2 - and will play Civ3 as well - but thinks these forums are a bit... uh... stupid), two kids and another on the way. I was an English major but for some reason I am a very successful "information systems engineer", whatever that means.

I registered on this web site just to let you know that I was 51 on the 11th of this month, am female and love playing computer games. My husband hates computers but one of my daughters loves them and loves Civ games like me. So, there's a challenge! Anyone older than me?! :D

HAW!

A date at the prom, how nice!!! You Crazy Americans!

You are just like George Mcfly in Back to the Future!!!

Only you play CIV:D

I will be 33 in December, am a confessed computer game addict (Civ II, Sims, SimCity, Quake II & III, several aerial and tank simulator games, etc.), and I am very lucky to have an extremely patient and understanding wife.

She has absolutely no interest in computers - I have to talk her through logging on to check her e-mail every once in a while - although she has shown some mild interest in the Sims. (She's an interior decorator and florist.)

She is very aware of my passion for Civ, and is also very aware (through my heavy lobbying efforts) of the imminent release of Civ III.

Life is good! :goodjob:

I'm 21 and a senior majoring in Political Science (concentrating on International Relations). I've been with my girlfriend for just over 2 years.

I started playing Civ back in the 7th grade when someone installed it on the computers in middle school. It very quickly became the most popular thing to do in the computer room!

Also, Civ was one of the things that moved my interest away from the sciences and towards politics, history, and security studies.

:goodjob: for Civ!

I'm Twenty-six.

I'm an addict too; I like playing lots of different types of games.
FPS, RTS, TBS, RPG are the main genres of choice for me.

Lookin' forward to Civ3 (funnily enough!), Return to Castle Wolfenstein (wicked team-based multiplayer!), Aquanox (put that GeForce 3 to work!). (Not lookin' forward to Empire Earth; tried the demo, didn't like it.)

Am currently playing Earth2150: The Moon Project, RtCW multiplayer test, Quake 3: Fortress.

:)

Edited for typos

 so how did you type this all out then if you have no arms ??

Im 23

I have a girlfriend (age 20) who doesn´t like computer games very much, but she lets me play as much as I like :) She plays a bit Black&White on her new 1.3Ghz computer though, If I only had a computer like that! But she´s kind, loves me, cock food and looks good so what do I care? :D

I have played Civ since the release on the Commodore AMIGA computer in 1990(?) I totally loved the game mostly because it was a real challange and it had a great replay value. Almost all games at that time was rather easy and didn´t contain many features. Civ was diffrent, and it still are.

Just checked my passport, yeah 38, and started playing games on the infamous Tandy (Applepanic etc.).

With Civ I came virtual insanity and the desperate urge to exchange my 1 MB RAM AT (EGA graphics) for a 50MHz 486 with VGA and an amazing 8 MB RAM! Civ II already had a Pentium and III will run on 600 MHz.

Did the typical Dutch habit of living together with a gf for years which a) means costly gaming time is sacrificed and b) makes polygamy a hard time. Solved right now and it also allows for some good  with good friends.

By the way, have type of what they call serious job, what the heck.

Good try yourself Algernon Pondlife! I checked your profile and you're only 8 months older than me! Still, at our advanced stage of life, I suppose that every week counts - especially when you're waiting in the backwaters of the UK for Civ 3 to arrive!!

:goodjob:
