Thal,

Am currently playing as Siam using CivUP v22 and GEM V1 Beta - Stage 2 (plus some other mods - mostly extra Wonders), and have just finished turn 268.

Was focusing on earning a culture victory, and really wasn't paying much attention to earning science points, although I was also doing well in that category.

Well, I finally noticed that my villages are not generating one science point each, which is what they were doing in the earlier GEM v1.01.

Is this a planned downgrading of villages or is it a bug?

P.S. I may have finally discovered and fixed what had previously been causing me numerous game crashes and graphics problems, including the ugly red & white checkerboard graphics, when using any mods with G&K. Have posted the info on the Technical Support forum, but will still keep my fingers crossed until I get another 300 - 400 successful turns without serious problems.

Village science function was temporarily removed as it was intended to come with changes to city/research that are still pending.

mystikx21,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Am looking forward to getting the extra science for villages added again, as I just discovered last night that without it, my focus on culture left me weaker on techs than I'd thought. With only one social policy (plus the Utopia project) standing between me and victory, my formerly friendly neighbor invaded me and quickly took out my entire army. Even with a bomb shelter in place, my capital city was promptly crushed and captured after repeated nuclear missile and atomic bomb hits.

Oh, well. Better luck next time!

Entertaining at least. Ouch.

I expect it to be back. Possibly by 1.04 when it gets done with revisions? It's just disabled from what I can tell, not eliminated. Easy enough to turn it back on.
