Clair Obscure sold over 1M copies in three days, and has almost surpassed even Oblivion Remaster is Steam db chart.
Final Fantasy 7, was still a turn based game, and it is now the most played game in the Final Fantasy Franchise.
All modern -post- Final Fantasy XII games, that swapped the old Turn-based method to the new Real time action combat,
even if they sold well, are not well received from the fan base. Which in fact, prefers playing more the old Final Fantasy 7 than
any of the newer one, with better graphics, etc.

So the first consideration to make here is that Clair Obscure, by adopting what fans loved the most, aka the old turn based combat system, has
been hugely rewarded. And the game has a 97% Positive reviews on Metacritic, and has sold 1M copies in 3 days...

The second consideration is ... pricing...
Clair Obscure 33, as Baldurs Gate 3, came out at a reasonable 49$ pricetag.
That in many parts of the world, is still MORE than 100$ for the average american citizen...

Analysts has received the message and are writing tons of articles about this.
Don't overprice your games, and listen to the fans.
Whilst some changes are Ok, others are not, especially changes that completely change the class of the game...

Civ VII is very expansive for the average gamer, and
has made radical changes to what was accepted to be core concepts for a turn based Civ game.

Also more similar games to Civ III, like AOE, seems to have more general appeal than for example Civ V...
These are baby numbers compared to games like Final Fantasy 7 that sold over 15M copies...
but the comparison I believe stays truth.

I personally never liked Final Fantasy turn based combat or JPRG in general, over games like Zelda...
And I haven't played it yet...
I have played Baldur's gate 3, which is an Hybrid turn based combat game and occasionally play some JRPGs...
And I love Baldur's gate 3...

It seems anyway this Clair Obscure it's a very good game in all regards and needs to be at least tried...
