Class not registered when installing Civ 3

I put in the installation cd for civ3 and i get the error Class not registered, installation failed to initialize. I'm running Win xp pro. Any ideas on what to do to get around this? I tried installing in safe mode, same problem.

I figured it out and thought i'd post the solution in case somebody else runs across this problem. Just go into program files/common files/InstallShield and delete that entire folder and then reboot. After I did that, it installed just fine.

Now i'm off to build my empire.
