Clive1 - Monarch (Training ?) game

No real preference. I find myself thinking , "now I get it" after I review Bede's skills.

I'm glad this game got to the point that you guys could really see that. It's not that Bede's skills at city management aren't strong in the early game, but it's a lot easier to see and appreciate it at this stage.

Everybody on the team should probably download Bede's save and scroll through the cities. Consider that a ... strong suggestion.

My first hint at Bede's city management skills was in reading the pre-flight of another player in a SG we were all in. This player (a strong player in his own right) wrote something like "...scrolled through our cities... I like following Bede..."

Just d/led. I'm also understanding this a lot now. The more I read and understand these tips, the better I'm doing at Emperor (still haven't won yet, but it's a lot easier than it was before I played this SG.)

On victory condition:

We can swallow Cleo and still have a ways to go to get to domination. It would take all of Cleo and the Arabs to put us over the top.

I'm learning a hell of a lot but I think I could do with at least one more Monarch game (possibly with a variation) before moving on to Emperor.

I'd like to play in it, I bet it would be great. I don't know if I would create it (I guess I could, but I don't know.) I'll also have to see if I will have time for this once I start getting more busy. After Clive1 then sure.

@Admiral: May I make a suggestion? Actually ... two...

First: Try to find another strong player for that one... Bede's a great guy, and a strong player, but for where you guys are (right at the sharp upturn in your learning curve) you will benefit greatly by observing and learning from other strong players. This is precisely the reason that Mistfit and Tallanas were not on my team in Jumpmasters. I showed those guys what I could in SGOTM2, and wanted them to have the benefit of learning from someone else... perhaps someone better than me...

Second: I've got one or two players in mind... so the second suggestion is for me. Lemme help you find somebody good that you haven't played with before.

Fine by me - suggest we try to keep discussion related to Monarch training 2 to Admirals new thread and Clive 1 to this thread where possible otherwise both SGs are likely to get confusing !

I'm monitoring both threads so will hopefully keep up to date on both.

A suggestion, keep feeding luxes to the Arabs whenever they start exercising their cavalry in the west, and don't take any gpt from them. If you have to, buy Fascism or some other tech for gpt. We need to owe them money or goods to keep them neutral.

Thank you for the suggestion, the Arabs kept moving cavs through our territory and I know what to do now.
