 do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight!!!!

anyone alive?

that sounds like me man, got my project due in for the first.

I just wanted to checkif people were still about. i won't play till we've discussed the save, I'm in no hurry, got my project soon, a coursework and exams at the end of next month.

College work sucks :(

I lately realized I earn LESS than a street sweeper doing (currently) 80 hours a week of science :(

enjoy college while you can ;)

Is Steve still playing? I like the idea of recruiting new blood, I think those other guys bailed on us :(

I'm still playing yes. I stopped for discussion on how to proceed. I posted my thoughts and a save so players could look on how best to proceed

Steve,
Why do'nt you try this strategy:
1) make MPP with Carthage and India (world map) rush settler in FC, buy saltpeter from carthage,

2)Move troops and settler down to just north of Sparta,

3) Declare war on Greece

4) Create city somewhere north of Sparta (on Greek territory)

building a city in enemy territory is considered RoP abuse? never knew that.

I think the reason India would declare on us rather than both India and Carthage is ecause Carthage doesn't have a MPP with Greece.

I have an idea. IIRC all our deals with Carthage end in like.... 2-3 turns (number 17-18 of my turns), why don't we just attack them. they're easier, less advance, and offer us, although less luxuries than Greece or India, offer us some luxuries and resources, which we could use. Although i we're willing to wait till the next player, the MPP with finish and we won't have any problems

I didn't know it either, I had the idea and I didn't know if it would work so I tried it. Sorry for letting out spoiler info, I forgot about that. But I was suggesting declaring war FIRST and then building the city in enemy territory, I didnt' include that bit in my scheme, after making the MPP's and ROP's then move troops down to the Greek border and declare war, then create the city. That's not an ROP rape as far as I know, but it does allow greece to attack us so india and carthage would side with us.

Steve: Carthage or Greece, it's your choice, when the game started I thought carlos said the player has pretty much a free hand except for city placement.

hate to say this but I'm gonna need a skip. I've played ten turns and the save is on the previous page but my aunt's just died so combined with the time I needed to take out to get my courseworks done, I dunno how much free time I'll get to finish my turns.

My plan for the next few turns was to build up my forces, get a RoP with the Hitties, move my army there and then declare on the Carthaginians. We have a few turns left on our RoP with them but out of all the options it's the best. IIRC the Greeks and Indians have RoP's with the Hittites so as a result both sides would get instantaneous reinforcements from the other however if the next player is gonna attack someone not Carthage I suggest Greece, they are the bigger threat and they can loose their cavalry by throwing themselves at captured cities with rifles and cannon rather than an invasion force out in the open. The Greeks seem to be more powerful but they're definately unbeatable, on fear or echoing another overconfident commander, one hard kick at the door and the whole rotten frame will crumble. If we take a greek city (sparta probably) then we can take out the Greek Cavalry from that city then move onto the others (perhaps a port city for reinforcements, the one north north west of Sparta).

Taking out the Carthaginians will be easier, they only have Muskets and their lands seem to be pretty open so we might be able to take a few of their cities using only cavalry, but I haven't look at the save today so I can't say.

Sorry again but I didn't want to not say anything and slow this game down anymore than I already have.
