CO-3: Immortal Emperors

Well as soon as I loaded up the save I realise we were teetering in the edge of Victory

I could just conquer some cities and press enter until resistance ended, but was there a more stylish way to finish off perhaps??? The invasion went thus with the sole purpose of achieving simultaneously this.]

And weakening Isabella so she would immediately do this on the same turn and with the hope( which was fulfilled) that Washington would do this.

and with the hope which was fulfilled that Washington would also do this.

A nice simultaneous triple capitulation which achieved this lovely picture

Which on pressing enter gives us this

And this score.

Nicely done Ralph, a stylish ending for a fun game. Thanks for playing people, it was a good learning experience for me. I also never realised you got a domination victory if you met the conditions for both a conquest and domination on the final turn though, or do vassals count differently to how I'm thinking?

Awesome ending Ralph :goodjob: !

Thanks to the team for this great game (my first finished SG :woohoo:)!
@Colony: what is our next immortal leader for CO4? :p

Cheers,
Raskolnikov

I didn't actually have anything planned yet for another game. If I do start another it'll probably be with a leader that's not as easy to play and on Normal speed, just to keep the difficulty interesting.

I recently finished some immortal normal speed games, and it's true that the warring is not as easy as it is in slower speed... and MM becomes the real focus (at least for me, to have a chance to compete). About leaders, what do you call "a leader that's not as easy"?
Anyway, Tx again for CO3 :)

Well I always have a lot more problems with leaders that don't have traits that work well with the UU and UB, especially Protective leaders, or leaders that just don't fit my playstyle, like Tokugawa or Boudica. Zara works very well with the way I play, probably because Creative and Organised fit together quite well.

 We are doing an SG with Toku right now in emperor... and indeed the eco crashed a lot more this time than after we killed Cathy in this SG... all leaders are not equal in immortal, that's for sure. If you want a challenge, rule out financial, creative, organized, and philo... and play against multiple imperialist civs ;) (and leave a message here if you start a new game)

I think economy management is probably one of my weaker areas, it feels like a lot of my problems are caused by expanding too quickly without the early economic techs, or just building too many units.

I'll make sure I post here first if I start a new game soon. Maybe Brennus would be a good leader to try for a challenge, but charismatic might be a bit strong.

Brennus is a blast (at least for me)... I see him as strong as Zara honnestly... but would be happy to play him
edit: I develop a little: he is the king or early happiness (monuments, cheap temples), can go for religions, stonehenge easly, is a king of the axe rush, and is spiritual for extra flexibility... really a beloved leader

Excellent finish, Ralph!

I've had some smashing victories with Brennus, but of course i'm not too experienced on immortal. He is strong early and fexible, but the level of challenge depends also on the map. What are you thinking?

I love them all personally.. perhaps archipelago a bit less ;) (GL cheese)

Yeah, the GL can sometimes make Archipelago maps a bit too easy. Maybe Brennus wasn't the best example either, someone without cha/phi/fin/org might make for a challenge, perhaps a leader like Bismarck, Genghis or Stalin.

As for the map I was planning on something similar, so Hemispheres, Continents or Fractal. I should probably make a new thread for all this soon.

Post here asa the thread is up :). I won't be around this we though...
