Coal, Nuclear, and Hydro Power

Which type of power plant is preferred in your cities? Hydro is obviously the cleanest.

Is there ever any point in building more than one type of power plant in a city? The coal plant is usually available first. If I build a coal plant in a city is there any point in building the Nuclear or hydro plants when they become available?

If you build a coal plant and then a hydro, once you build the hydro you no longer get the -2 health bonus the coal plant gives you.

Coal plant then replace with hydro if you have time or really need the health. I haven't ever built a nuclear plant.

I certainly have never built a nuke-ya-lur plant like some people in the world. **cough**

Coal, coal, coal. By that stage of the game, I want production online now to get Labs up, then spaceship parts. If health is a problem, build an aquaduct to offset it.

Coal plant followed by 3 Gorges.
Rarely hydro, only once did I build a nuclear. After it melted down never again.
