Colonies 4.2 MP Tournament

Hmm... I didnt know that. Allthought I must admit I still havent read the latest playernotes.

Thanks for the info Steve

Good notes, Jhon.

Question for the tournament:

What are exactly the house rules about the Sappers?

Can they do any terraforming action (like mining)? Or only to build roads and forts? Or what?

OK guys the tourney is moving along now so I have a request.

When you play a turn and post make a note on whose turn it is next in your turn post.

Thats way we wont all have to dig and figure out if we are next or not, like I have to do with just about every thread right now.

Thats should at least help us until we have a better fel for the play order and who is what civ in each one.

Thanks.

Now an email or PM reminder would be great as well, but posting whoever is next in the turn post would be really helpfull :)

Thanks! :goodjob:

Global Bump ! :)

Everyone has been playing very quickly, great job! :)

I bumped all the threads with the current turn player due to play:

Game 1 Steve
Gane 2 Steve
Gane 3 Steve
Game 4 Henrik
Gane 5 John

So its not really a bump, more like a reminder. (I had to check the threads anyway. :) )

Ill try and get a couple of turns up tonight and the rest tomorrow.

Great job guys, a smiley face this week goes to everyone for a rapid progression in the Tourney! :) :) :)

I like these BUMPs. Now I see the King's Bump in his favourite taks :D

Henrik

The forum server is going down sometime today, so if planned on catching up today then could you download all your files soon, and if need be post after the shut down?

Thanks! conmcb25

I think I have all the files now, but as you say I'll probably have to post after the server is up again.
As I won't be able to play right away :(

Finally, I have made the Colonies 4.2 MP and SP versions (we are playing the MP one here) available on my web site.

Also, the "better" Bonaparte II, optimised for MP play, is up there. They all can be downloaded from here...

I have made sure both the Colonies PlayerNotes explain how to make Slaves build Plantations, and why that can be a good idea.

I'll post this in the SP Playtest thread as well...

Jhon, I'm using IE 6.0 and Windows XP and I've problems reading the Notes in the link of your site (it looks like the NotePad withouth the Wrapping Line option activated)

And another note:

you keep saying that the players are unable to build fortresses (Terrain section of the MP Notes) in the MP notes, but they can!

Sorry, I suppose it's too late for telling you that :(

Damn, that was because I copied the SP notes to form the basis of the MP notes, and missed it. Anyway, note (6) at the start of the file specifically says you can build fortresses (field fortifications), so I expect people will work it out.

The word wrap thing was just a boring formatting error. I'll get around to tidying it up one day....

Please notice: I've got the long-hoped phone call from Madrid and I'll be out the 19th and 20th of this month :)

Maybe it's not very polite to do this, so I apologize, but I feel I need to do:

GLOBAL BUMP!!!!

Game 1 # Henrik to move - 8 days
Game 2 # Henrik to move - 7 days
Game 3 # Henrik to move - 6 days
Game 4 # Henrik to move - 8 days
Game 5 # Henrik to move - 8 days

I hope you're fine, Henrik :)

No No its fine Henrik and Stian and John are used to it from the Boney Tourney.

But a few of the finer points of a TRUE Global Bump.

1. The words "Global Bump" should be bolded and enlarged. Like this:GLOBAL BUMP!

2. Bumping the threads in perfect numerical order is a nice addition to "Global Bumps" and is known as the "Perfect Control Panel Jam", but to do it takes precise timing and incredible concentration. I am to this day the only one who has ever perfectly pulled it off and pulled it off consistently over time.

3. A Global Bump should be followed up by a "Smiley Face" for the week. That goes to whomever has contributed the most to the Tourney in the last week by playing quickly or removing passwords or whatever. If no one has contributed significantly then of course just give yourself the smiley face. ;)

So you see there is a lot more to the finer points of bumping than most people realize. I however have promoted it to a new art form. Therfore I can honestly and truely claim the title: "BUMP KING"

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ok, I see I can't contest your title right now.. But with the time I'll be better and I'll get named as BUMP WANNABE-KING :p

Now seriously, next time I'd ask you to do the BUMP ;)
