which one honestly did you all prefer, i say number 1 due to its classic feel that even the new one cant capture

Col2 for me. I was a fan of the original game and played it for years. At the time it came out it was head and shoulders above anything else on the market, which certainly can't be said for Col2. But if I have to vote head to head, as they are now, I'll go with the new version.

I liked the first on better. But that could be because my PC is a little old now, and Civ4Col runs very slowly on it. So I get bored waiting for my computer to keep up.

I was more addicted to Col than I am to CIV:Col, but if I have the choice between playing the two games (& I do... got my onl COL playing via DOSBOX), I always play civ:col... there's just so much more to it, and the graphics are far superior.

Perhaps one day there will be an improved version called Colonization III. It should take in all the good ideas and improvements devised by fans and furthermore be a game that isn't simply a scenario of Civ IV.
