I am pleased to annouce that, as a result of the preturn trades of the last turn chat, suggested by mad-bax, the glrourious Fanatannian people have nearly achieved technical parity with the rest of the known world! The HMS Inquisitor also sends reports of meeting a new civilization, the Empire of Persia.

Potential Deals
We Want... We offer...
China
Masonry 154g, 1gpt

Persia
Masonry Ceremonial Burial, 101g

Note: The first column represents what our rival would
offer, and the second isour offer. Comma denote areas where
multiple items are needed for one deal, while slashes denote that
several items would garner the same result from our prospective
trading partners.

Obviously, I think this is an excellent time to jump on the Persian deal to aquire Masonry. As always, more information about the last turn is availble in the Commerce Office thread.

As a note, we have 160g and are making 5gpt.

We are a long way still from writing. I would make the trade with China, but I would not sell MAsonry on to the Netherlands and India. Fuelling the tech pace would be worse than taking the risk of extortion. If we have to give it away then so be it. In reality it will only cost a few gold. China will learn CB any time soon. So make the trade whilst it's available.

We can't expect to make a killing with every trade.

Do you maybe have Persia and China confused? It's Persia who don't know CB, so I thought we should get a little more use out of it while we still can.

I agree we should hold on to Masonry until there is something we can get for it.

Quite right. Out with Mao; in with Xerses. Typing Dyslexia I'm afraid.

I support the trade with Persia. Should we meet additional civs during this turn, I suggest we also give the President the freedom to seek trades which – in his opinion – are advantageous to Fantannia.
