Commisioning better graphics for extra resources...

So, over the years, I have added in this mod and that for my own gaming enjoyment, and now I'm actually trying to clean things up and make them look nice. Unfortunately, I suck at drawing new graphics :wallbash:. So, I'm asking if I can commision someone to draw me up some sweet dds icons for some bonus resources. Here's what I'm looking for:

Coffee
Hemp
Potatoes
Salt
Sulphur

I've got pretty good ones for Pearls & Titanium, but if someone wants to give those a hack as well, I'm all for it. :D

Please include smaller graphics for GameFont & GameFont_75 too.

One last request. A Forest nif file would be absolutely marvelous. The ones included in the game are each bits & pieces of a forest, but a whole one would be really nice.

If memory serves me correctly, one of those forest nif files completely covers a plot.
 
So I just have to find which one? OK, I can try that. It's more for the Civilopedia then the main map. The Forest Worker build only stays there for one turn anyways, I've got some Python that finds what was laid down & replaces it with a proper forest. I'll run through all the nifs (10 or so of them, right?) and find the "full" one for the 'pedia.

Any takers on the new & better graphics for the resources? Anybody? :D
 
Had some time, so I saved you the troube. Check for leafy15_01. ;)
I think its the same "15" file for the other forest types (snowy, evergreen).
 
I made new dds and GameFont icons for all of the normal resources in the WoC. We are adding trade goods now that are made from the raw resources, but I think you can see where the change is in it.

I did not touch the 3d stuff so wherever we got the 3d art it is what we have.
 
Thanks for the incredibly quick reply johny smith. Your new icons for the stock resources look great. Unfortunately, I'm looking for new icons for new resources. I've attached a RAR with my files, so you can see what I'm talking about. If you have the time, I'd love to see what you come up with.

I know. Those are just the default one I put on CFC. The rest are in the WoC. Just download the full they are there.

Plenty of people around. I know something but I am always busy working on WoC related things usually. Is it WoC stuff? I am not the best by no means though anyway with NIF's but know something at least.
 
Well, looking at the LSystem error log, it seems that two of my imported wonders have badly made NIFs. The log says:

building:Art/sphinx/sphinx_only.nif does not contain a node called SHADOW. Its shadow, if present, will be corrupt!

The log shows this error for two of my imported wonders. I think, that if I can get these two fixed, the other errors (Lighthouse & Great Lighthouse graphics can't be placed, can't place node Leaf_Farm_4x4) will go away on their own...

No, it has nothing to do with the WoC. And even if you are "not the best", then you'll still be better than I, trust me! :lol:

Like I said in the previous post, Civ is seeing something wrong with the NIFs...
 
A missing shadow is not a game-breaking issue. If you want, you can add a shadow yourself with the NifSkope editor.

About your lighthouse and great lighthouse problems, in the vanilla game those two use the LSYSTEM_WATER leaf iirc, not a size-by-size leaf like 4x4 or so. Such stuff must be corrected in xml, not in graphics.
 
Hi Geo, thanks for reply. I was hoping to avoid having to use NifSkope at all costs, the walkthroughs for it scare the bejeezus outta me, I'd rather read Chaucer :lol:. I'll try to find a newer one, maybe someone has written something that includes links for the software...

Also, I don't think the game is trying to load the Lighthouses using the Farm_Leaf_4x4, the error log doesn't seem to quite read that way. That, and I haven't touched a thing about the Lighthouses anywhere in the XML.

Have you tried to read the error log from vanilla BtS? If you have the same kind of errors, the ones you have wouldn't be a problem.

Okay, that's the log. But does none of those water buildings show ingame?
 
Geo, haven't check Vanilla yet, but there's definately something weird going on here...

Both the GL & reg Lighthouse don't show in the city they were built in. With one exception, all the other cities on the map that have Lighthouses, show Lighthouses. That one exception is one of mine, and (possibly coincidentally) the city is at the same latitude as the problem city (where the Wonder is). There are no other cities on the map that are at that latitude, so I don't know if it's coincidence or not...

Oh, and despite the Farm_Leaf_4x4 error listed in the log, as far as I can see, all Farms are displaying properly. Is Farm_Leaf something else?
 
Farm_leaf is something for the farm improvement. Probably the Firaxis programmers didn't put the 4x4 leaf in. Never checked that.

I'd need to see the xml to have a chance of figuring out what's wrong here. Have you by any chance changed the SDK so that the Great Lighthouse overwrites the Lighthouse or something? I'm not sure if you're telling me that there's a lighthouse in one of your cities isn't showing, AND the GL in an entirely other city, or the lighthouse and GL in the same city (one of yours).
Also, do you have other coastal cities which show the lighthouse when you put it in?
