Hi! I'm making a scenario about the situation in N.Korea, but I fail to see any buildings of communist design and thinking. Has anyone got these sort of cities for my scenario?

I really also want to hide shields for special units, eg mines and buildings.

The communist cities are generally towerblock orientated, are drab looking, and grey. It's mostly block orientated becuse of the banning of private property. Oh and has anyone got any collective farmland? I've been scouring the net for years for it!

Take a look at Nemo's Second Front scenario, it has some concrete commie-looking cities.

About the shields thing: It seems that the position of the shields is determined by the blue dots on the green frame around the units in the UNITS file. The position of the blue dots determine the position of the upper left corner of the shield, if you place the dots so that the shield is below the pink square, then it will be invisible on the map.
 
Yeah, I've seen them but they look too big and a tad bit cartoonish, has anyone got any Combine harvester units I desperately need them!

Oh, and thank you for the advice! How many blue dots to each unit?

If you don't like the cities I suggested, then I don't know what to suggest.
I don't think there are anyone better, but if you look in Case's Battle of Australia, you'll find some moderations. If you find them cartoonish, then they won't be better, I'm afraid.
 
Cities in the USSR and North Korea are very different.

Here are some pretty rare shots of Pyongyang. The streets and buildings are very bland, as most colored paint on buildings is banned by the Communist Party. That's why they're all greyish color.

Anyone got any combine harvester units?

I think there hasn't been made a combine harvester unit. Ask some professional in the units thread to make it or something. :goodjob:

rmsharpe: I think the pics have a stunning similarity with some of the newer Soviet cities in the Urals and Sibiria...
 
I have looked at some really great soviet cities on dictator II but sadly it is in ToT format, can anyone give me some advice on how to 'place' these into civ II.
 
It should be immediately compatible - you can just copy the cities you want from it...
 
This is the Dic2 cities file in FW/MGE/Conflicts format. It should work as it is there.

I just copied and pasted the whole image into an existing cities file and saved it...
 
That is the FW/MGE version...
 
He's converting it? It's a very good scenario, and the graphics should be less good in MGE. :goodjob:
