Community Patch for BNW

Nineveh had salt and mt fuji within 3 tiles. i did notice something about montys 2nd or 3rd city that worries me tho..

Your video isn't working. I'm honestly at a loss as to why it is not working for you. Once the video works I'll diagnose.

Other than it being impenetrable, I don't see a problem! :lol:

I see why he settled there (ocean access, lux, strategic goods, and also a choke-point), though it is unique.

this game has quickly turned into "oh god dont make assryia mad". they asked me to go to war with aztecs? sure. thankfully they arent religious this game and have taken on my orthodoxy.
 
Okay, I looked over the video, and everything looks correct. The only thing you might try is this:

Try disabling the music changer (a stretch, I know, but it is worth trying) and trying clicking the checkbox next to the Community Patch at the very end (after all other checkboxes have been checked).

The issue here is absolutely a LUA problem – something is overriding the LUA files for Cityview.lua and DiploList.lua. I'll need to do some more looking – have you had this problem with mods before?

I'm super sorry that this is happening, by the way. I know it must be frustrating!

Okay, I looked over the video, and everything looks correct. The only thing you might try is this:

Disabling music changer won't help, as I had the same issue without it - yesterday. I checked the Community Patch as the last one when I didn't use music changer, and the problem was the same, so I checked it because it doesn't seem to have any influence etc. I even used both English and Polish versions of the game - to be sure it's not a steam or a language issue - I'm not a programmer myself or anything.

When the problem was gone for a while - after updating the Community Patch, the save games didn't work at all. After I updated the CSD to version 24, the city screen problem came back, but the save games seem to work now.

Yeah, it is, but I know it's still in apha release, so I understand there might be issues, and I want to help and support people who want to make this cool game better. The game been part of my life since the 90s with quite a few very long breaks, but I tend to come back to it thanks to people like you who want to make it better and better.

I know it's strange. The whole Washington stuff appearing, always the same, whatever Civ I choose, the "Washington, Status team 1" appears, oh well.
 
so this is going to be a really good test for the Ai. im right next to assyria. were both the leaders in the world for science and culture. hes order, im freedom. its a perfect stand off. they need to declare war on me frankly.

Indeed. What version of Civ are you running. You said it has been a long time – did Steam update Civ for you? Probably a dumb question, but worth a shot!


Strage glitch. turn 311 and i have slightly more troops than the aztecs, yet they're afraid of me...

Odd. I haven't really messed with that too much, but I'll look. I encouraged the AI to care a bit more about the city strength of its opponents...are your cities substantially stronger than his? I'll look at those values (I haven't seen the AI be 'afraid' except when you are the first to build the atomic bomb).

On the other hand...should Monty be afraid of you? :)

The newest - steam installs the newest 1.0.3. 144.

Nothing new ;-) Still can't build anything, no hover tooltips and with the new versions in place, an end of turn crashes the game. I first cleared cache, then I reinstalled civ, redownloaded all the mods I am using, doublechecked for cityview lua, dlls, everything. I even played with options and to no avail. I don't see hover tooltips (such as "Plains, River, 1 hammer 1 food"), then I pop a settler, I can't build anything, the cityscreen is broken. The new thing is, as I've mentioned, the game crash after I click end turn. Before I could end turns normally as long as I havn't popped a settler.
 
So I installed that new Community Patch and CSD v24 and the old problem (can't load saves) is back.

Also I can't see Leader portraits in the regular choose your civilisation screen and choosing them randomly only results in Washington pick, only deeper in the advanced settings I can choose other leaders.

Did I install something wrong? I have:

The newest EUI (which shouldn't create a problem of any sort), installed the newest v1 (btw I'd recommend naming every release a bit different. It creates a bit of confusion to me because it's like 3rd v1 - it'd be better if they were named like v1, v1.1, v1.2 etc. to make them easier to recognise)

CSD v24 (removed the files which EUI hates already)

And all the mods I used to have with CSD v23 and CP v1 (previous)

And Community Patch v1.
 
Correction - the no portraits bug seems to be caused by the new EUI version but it's only a minor annoyance.

However loading game saves doesn't work anymore. Should I remove anything (except for those files which EUI doesn't like - already removed) from the folders?
 
I tested all of this thoroughly, and I didn't encounter any of these problems. I'll look into it. In the meantime, make sure to clear your cache and, for me, try following just the steps I have listed on the 'How to Install' thread. If those steps don't work, I'll go back to square one. Otherwise, there's something causing all of this outside of the CP.

On a side note, CP will be 'v1' until I release it officially. Bugs like this are keeping it from being v1. :)

No need to look into it - I fixed it by removing the Test folder.

I modified it a bit before (basically only left Augustus change and left Observatory change too but changed Mountain = '1' into Mountain = '0' to ensure it can be built anywhere) and I think I made a mistake while replacing something. Will try again to have it as I wanted it

Are you unable to load saved games period, or just saved games from sessions started prior to the new patch I just put out? The new versions of DLL-based mods, almost invariably, are not savegame-compatible.
