better diplomacy. its one of the more intriquing aspects of the game.
If you are building on a continent and you consider it yours and another civ comes over on a boat and lands you should be able to tell them to leave your land mass and then they have the option to comply or not.

a civ tells you to leave their territory and you either can or its war. how about if you dont comply and leave but it doesnt automatically start a war. this would give you a chance to test the AI and even bully it.

more country specific units and abilities. why just one special unit for each civ?

Be able to play into the future like civ call to power. very fun and imaginative.
future units and their capabilities are a blast if you get that far.

dont just have riots but enable the rioting cities to break away from the empire once again as in call to power.

more realistic armies and combat if possible. you can group armies together in real life all you want. why not in civ? once again as in call to power but even more advanced if possible.

get very specific country or nation abilities. like facism with concentration camps or communism with gulags which would cut down on unhappiness(through terror) and add to production(forced labor).

and finally, more diplomacy. THERE CANT BE ENOUGH!

most of these ideas have been pointed out in other threads but for the most part they are good ideas especially the armies part

colonel, does firaxis actually read these suggestions or is this just all fantasizing amoung ourselves?

More diplomacy is good

More specific units is a good idea, but only one UU "with different stats" is fine with me.

fine if it is a senario, not too good if it is part of the epic game. After all, civ is in a nutshell, a historical game, not a fantasy game. Again, good idea for a senario or even an expansion.

I am not a big supporter of break away cities/provinces. This could change if people show me how it will be implementing in a way that I can view as still being fun.

You can already put units in armies, but I am assuming you want something more. Not sure how I feel about this since I do not mind the current combat system. Need to see examples of how a new system would work.

get very specific country or nation abilities. like facism with concentration camps or communism with gulags which would cut down on unhappiness(through terror) and add to production(forced labor).

I do not think civ specific buildings is that good of an idea, however, buildings that can only be used by a certain government type is fine. I believe that this can be done in the editor in Civ 3.

and finally, more diplomacy. THERE CANT BE ENOUGH!

You are correct there.

And in answer to your follow up post, yes Firaxis people browse those forums such as civfanatics to see what "the people" want.

Hey sealman. One the one post where you had no comment, what i mean is when you are in another civs territory and they ask to to leave. You can do so and you automatically move out or if you refuse war is declared. Why not have an the ability to not leave the territory but this will not automatically bring about a state of war. The AI would then have to decide if it wants to enforce its will with war, ask you to move out again next turn or learn to live with your encroachment and unresponsiveness.

talking of continents as land masses not in your culture group i think a bigger reward for crossing oceans to other continents should be implemented.
a)maybe new civs are gracious towards you to start withmaybe sometimes historically accurate, im not sure...
b) communications being worth more in trade
c) if historical victory was implemented crassing oceans and first round the world trips etc. could be worth history points?
