According to the war academy, the turns per year are the same in Emperor and Deity. However, I just revolted in 1913 on Emperor difficulty, which, upon consulting the Oedo thing, is a revolt year for King but not Deity. What gives? I'm all confused now.

It actually helped me, though. I started the revolution in 1912. :)

 Damnit wrong board! Someone wanna move it to the Civ2 board? Pardon the noob...

JJJ, Welcome to CFC :) If you PM one of the mods (Padma or Chieftess) he or she can probably move the thread for you.

I would have moved it, but Padma and I moved it at the same time. ;) Consider it a double move.

Addressing the original question -- the Oedo year is every fourth turn, so the first option for King, Emperor, & Deity is -3850, followed by -3650, etc. Since King tracks differently after 1000AD, you may want to have separate charts for the differentl levels that you typically play at. For Emp, start the revolt in year 1914, so that in year 1915, you can have your new government.

According to my oedo chart,1911 0r 1915 would be the years.

Many "lists" fail to take into account the differing number of turns depending on map size.Difficulty level is not the only thing that determines game turns.

IIRC, those lists work for the majority of the map sizes for those levels. Emperor Level on a Medium or Small map have 420 turns, while all the Deity levels are 420 turns, so the 'Deity' chart works for those. It's the small map for the King level and the large map for the Emperor level that make it 'wrong'. The charts would be better described as being for 470 turn maps, rather than 'King' and 420 turn maps, rather than 'Deity'.

So, use the 'King' chart for the games you are playing in the green settings, and the 'Deity' chart for the ones in the yellow setting.

I made this Oedo chart for myself and I think it's quite nice, so I figured, why not share it. :D Here it is, in convenient-to-edit .doc form. It includes the map size/difficulty chart... I forget who I got that idea from but it was someone on this forum. (Edit: Well moving that thread made me look rather silly, didn't it duke? :p )Anyhoo there's probably an error in it somewhere so don't hesitate to tell me.
