I felt I hadn't asked for help here in a while, so it was about time I did :D;).

Basically, i'm having problems with accessing the internet, i'll go through a list of points below:

  • I am on BT broadband, used to use a Voyager modem but I now use a Belkin one (wireless router).
  • Recently, there have been a few minor problems with the connections:
  • Basically, if I run a full screen program (such as a game) then when I come off of it Firefox won't go onto the internet, IE takes forever to load a page, MSN won't come on either, but any other programs that need to access the internet are fine.
  • Other times this happens is if MSN is closed, this causes IE to transfer slowly and MSN to no longer be able to log on (as if IE was set to work offline). Which is another point, MSN seems to act as if IE is working offline randomly sometimes.
  • And sometimes FF just doesn't connect either, but all the others will.
  • This can usually be solved by logging on or off (although sometimes just another program doesn't work properly) or restarting the PC.
  • Oh yeah, if you log off and log onto someone elses account then they can't access the net either.
  • Whenever this happens the old connection box will pop up (the one from when we used the voyager modem, because the new one is always conencted) and try to connect, but fail.

Its more of an inconveniene than a problem, but any help would be much appreciated.

I thought it might be to do with my firewall? (ZoneAlarm) or some other settings, but I don't want to rush into anything.

Thanks, in advance :goodjob:.
