Conquer_02 Random civ-MONARCH

lurker's comment: Two suggestions. You may want to focus on improving the tiles that you'll actually work. Irrigating that cow is prime, plus irrigating the flood plains that can actually produce additional food while under despotism. An irrigated plain is definitely improved, but there are others that are better.

Also you may want to check what you're spending on research. The game automatically sets your research rate at 50%, but you may want to spend less on research (and put more in your treasury) if you'll still end up with the same tech in the same number of turns. Fiddle with the research slider to see what you get.

So far so good. :hatsoff:

Yes, azzaman, when you play your turnset lower science to 30 or 20 even. We can use system of trade later.

3450 - Meaty Chunks - Warrior >> Warrior

3400 - Hello! It a purple border...

3350 - Not good. Its a viking purple border... Meaty Chunks - Warrior >> Settler

3300 - Spot 2 goodies

3250 - move to the goodies

3200 - maps and ... WTH? barbs? arent we expansionist?

3150 - Another goody spotted, i can see some green borders.

3100 - oh crap, the 'tecs. Aggresive civs nearby is not a good thing. And barbs from a hut isnt good either.

3050 - %^$!#@@#!!! Goddam barbs killed a warrior. At least it releases some of our income. Meaty Chunks - Settler >> Warrior

3000 - Boring turn. I'm going to keep playing till we settle the second town, since there could be a viking settler near our ivory.

2950 - Spot a pretty pink border, and notice tenochitlan has very little production.

2900 - It was a chinese border. interesting.

2850 - Ivory Backscratcher built. saved turn immediatly.

Got it. Will play in a minute.

Tenochtitlan probably has a low population because they probably just made a settler.

This is seeming to be a bit easy... I wonder if I put it on Monarch... Cody, check what difficulty it's on when you see the save. If it's anything easier than monarch, we need to start again. :hmm: Maybe it's regent...

2850BC-Meet Chinese, they have no extra cities, the have BW and are catious

2800BC-Send warrior in AztecLand to the sothwest a little

2750BC-Fortify warrior in Ivory Backscratcher

2710BC-Meaty Chunk finishes warrior->Barracks->Settler send warrior sw

2670BC-See injured Chinese warrior... Must be barbs around. :hmm: Realize everyone has no extra cities. Worker finishes irrigation, connect the ivory

Nothing until 2550BC-Find wine north of China. Cows and tundra and a lake.

2510BC-Ivory connected.

Yes, I forgot to mention that. It makes it... well... more challenging. We could restart or continue playing. I say continue.

Well, let's just continue and next time I'll do traits.

Cody, you're up.

Okay, here we go.

Turn 1 - 2470 BC: nothing...

Turn 2 - 2430 BC: Alphabet is done and Bronze Working will now be researched... a barb warrior comes near a warrior and he runs away like a little girl. IB builds warior.

Turn 3 - 2390 BC: Barracks are built in MC. The dumb barb almost kills the warrior, but he is no match for our warrior...

Turn 4 - 2350 BC: nothing...

Turn 5 - 2310 BC: I see another Aztec city.

Turn 6 - 2270 BC: Oh Oh! I see a border! It's pinkish...

Turn 7 - 2230 BC: Oh, crap, another barb just walked up to the warrior with one HP... I'm gonna have to go west... oh, another border, blue this time!

Turn 8 - 2190 BC: MC builds settler... crap, I dunno where to go. I think I'll go with a coastal city next to some insence... pinkish border is Arabia.

Turn 9 - 2150 BC: I discover that Arabia has three spices by their capital... the blue people = Germany!

Turn 10 - 2110 BC: Bronze working is done and I shall now research... um... let's go with warrior code. Someone can change that, if they want. MC builds a warrior and will now build the first spearman of the game.

I didn't take any screenshots that time... nothing too exciting... the settler is ready to be settled, I dunno if I chose a good spot for it or not.

MC was on barracks wasn't it?

BTW: Got it your sig I see cody. I haven't even put it there yet.

Yep... it was successfully built (2 turns left when I picked it up, I think) and then I started work on settler (which took 6 turns, I believe.)

Dude, what the heck?? I put it under manage attatchments... I'll try again.

Oh, I know what I did. I think I pushed "close window" before it was done.

Geez I'm not very good at this so far
