Conquest of Middle Earth

An interesting mod based on the lord of the Rings has come out, been posted on these forums, and hasn't been really tested for Multiplayer as far as I know. Anyone interested in starting a pbem game on it?

I'd like to. I've had a look at the mod and it looks pretty cool, and I want to get involved in a few more PBEMs.

I've look at the mod, but the Lord of the Rings-theme looks good! And i'm also looking for a PBEM.

I've downloaded the modpack, but how can i install it? And will it have effect on my 'normal' game?

you can unzip it in the /conquests/scenario folder and/or in the /conquests/conquest folder. you just go into civ content inside the game to play it. You can still play the regular game anytime you want.

I will see if I can DL it ... tomorrow ... in principal I am interested ... but in my sig is a reference to a thread I started seeking expressions of interest for fantasy pbem ... if you click on it ... there are a number of interested people PM them ...

I have dial up that is tempermental so may have difficulty ... goodluck with the project ... at the very least i will lurk

we should have at least 6 though the full 8 would be nice to even out the sides.

How are you choosing civs? I haven't played this mod yet, though I'd be very interested to try it! I'll download it now, and play a bit of it! When I finish I'll pm you my email address and favorite civs!

Obviously, there are only 3 of the evil and 5 of the good but I think ROTC dis something to equal out the balance.
How we pick hasn't been decided yet.

I'm not that great of a civ player, and I'm pretty busy because of homework lately, but I think I might be able to play.

I will need to travel to download it. I'm on Dialup and really can't get away with an all night internet session and still work the next day. The earliest I can try it is Friday evening...

Hey, I'm not that great of a civ player. I mostly play on Regent, or monarch if I'm looking for a challenge. I was never able to get the hang of the growth phase.....

Well in this game, that won't be a problem (well I might actually expirement with "densifying" my land (adding additional cities in between) depending on the average city size etc). All your cities are prebuilt, so its really about your war/diplomacy skills.
