Conquest of the World achievement?

This achievement appears broken to me. I just won a game, as Alexander, in 1000 BC by Domination.

I got credit for the following:
Win as Alex
Win Warlord
Win Duel map
Win Pangaea
Win Domination

So the achievements are working.

I did not get credit for Conquest of the World, which reads: "As Alexander, defeat every known player by 350 BC" Has anyone else got this?

Maybe the achievement requires you to eliminate the other players, not just defeat them by taking their capital...?

It's not the only achievement that's broken, either. Several are not working, such as the one for making a full loop of tiles around the world. I revealed EVERY tile in the world and still no achievement.

The full loop is turned off in the XML, it's a known problem.
I have gotten Conquest of the World, however, so the achievement isn't wholly broken. It's possible that it has conditions that aren't obvious from the text.

I got the Alex by 350BC achievement as well, I got lucky and started next to my only competitor ( that I know of ), and choked and killed him early...

It's probobally eliminating them fully rather than just taking the caps.

I'll have to give it another try making sure the capital is the last (or only) city I take. Let's file this as Not a Bug for now I guess.

Just confirming, you only get the "we are conquered" animation when you take someone's last city; if this is also their capital and it's the last city in the game you get the conquest concession animation before the domination victory screen, and this is REQUIRED for victory - you must own every player city (not city states) and the last city you take must be an original capital.

Easiest way to get the conquest of the world achievement is to scout only until you encounter first hostile civ and then throw all in and hope you can conquer him before some other wandering scout stumbles upon your cities or units.

That is if you know only one civ it is enough to conquer that civ alone and do nothing else.

I have this achievement, it works. I did it by destroying every city and the capitals last. Steam ID: masterctrlprogram

It's a little difficult for me to understand the achievement: Is it 'defeat everybody you know by 350 BC so that by 350 BC you have no diplo contact with any other civ'? Probably not, because I got this one in the ADs.

I think it means 'completely conquer everyone you have met earlier than 350 BC'. Not sure if you're allowed to have diplo contacts from after 350 BC at the same time. I just wiped my continent before Astronomy and got the achievement.

Yeah, the wording here is definitely confusing. I tried this three times before I finally got it right. You have to completely wipe out your enemy(ies). If you play on a duel map and just take the enemy capital, you win the game, but you have not actually "defeated" the other player, because if it didn't happen to be the last capital left, they would still be in the game.
