I wonder how workers will treat this kind of terrain. There is nothing to chop, so wouldn't changing the marsh mean terraforming?

Where'd you here the extra info about it?

All I've heard is that there will be Marshes in the Mesopotamian scenario.

Also there will be Rain Forests that are impassible to everybody in the MesoAmerica scenario

I see, I didn't relate marshes to scenarios only, when I read LouLong's first post:

I hope it is ! Normally all scenario features can be used in the normal game and in the editor.

Marshes are really needed. I just hope they don't only take an empty spot (tundra ?) in the Craddle of civilization scenario.

I think I saw something at www.gamespot.com about the Craddle of civilization.

The purpose of this scenario: “it’s about a race to build the seven winders of the world”. So I deduce there will be Greek’s also, and the Wonders will be, of course, the 7 ancient wonder of the world:
The Pyramids, The Statue of Zeus, The Temple of Artemis, The Lighthouse, The Hanging Garden’s, The Colossus, The Halicarnasso Mausoleum’s (it’s the only one, yet not spoken).

With the Dutch and Portuguese also in, I figure there will be some sort of colonization conquest too, that would include england france and spain.

it is how mountinous the terrain is, the older, the more rough it is, the younger it is, the more smooth.

Actually, in reverse :)
Younger worlds have also terrain types (eg. plains, jungle, desert etc.) and resources more clustered (especially luxuries).

i forgot, when does this come out?

You got a very specific date

I've heard "Sometime this fall"

Specifically :

"Of course, there aren't many direct descendants of the Byzantine Emperors around any more to argue their case for inclusion in the game - the last one had his eyes gouged out around 1453 during the fall of Constantinople. But Meier has seen fit to restore them to their former glory, complete with the Dromon Unique Unit to spew Greek fire at enemy triremes. Theodora, wife of Justinian, takes the reins of power for the Byzantines."

And of a lot more interest :

"Speculating on what playable civs will make the cut is a favorite pastime for most Civ fans, and a fair amount of revisionist or just plain erroneous history is marshaled in support of playing the Dutch, Portuguese, Hittites, Sumerians or whoever else appeals to their sense of national identity."

I'm quite stunned by that statement...either they're just plain off (gamer.tv), or else a LOT of what we think we know about C3C civs has just been thrown off overboard...
