Conquests Scenario Won! Post Your Results Here.

ever yone dose, in fact, because I captured the Burgundian relic, and took it to Jerusalm, and gained 10000 victory points (it was relitivelly early, or mid game, as it was only in Venice, which was one of the cities I made it a point to capture, as it had a port, and could supply any western provinces with out having to make a huge road across German,a Polish city, and Magyar territory- not to mention I wanted to capture "re-capture" Rome anyway, and had more then enough forces left over from that to do it with.

any way, it made me end the scenario a bit early- I was aiming at domination victory, as the map is HUGE, and the 25% needed in territory size could have been achived by adding back France, and some of Spain, and perhaps the Magyar lands- as it si it looks like I would have more, but I only have 18% of the mao under my control (and yet 43% of the population...)

middle ages- soon, i plan to post my report on what it was like, and suggestions for when playing the scebario with them :)

This is conquest 2, Rise of Rome. It was a very fun scenario to play with Rome. I saw the biggest naval battle of my Civ3 career in this game. Around Sicily and that part of the Mediterreanen lies the graves for many a galley. I had Greece on my side against Carthage, and I am not kidding when I say around 50-60 galleys were sunk by both sides (and me), and that was only in the area I could see! Also, something else strange happened. In one of my size 14 cities, on the last turn, pollution occurred.......Anyways, I won. I started at 9 am this morning an ended at 9:30 pm this afternoon....a couple breaks....me, a Civ-holic? Never :D.
Turn 88, Regent level, 3416 points. This is a really fun scenario, and especially for Rome.

What units are in the scenario?

Any units that are unique to it?

Thanks.

in a way, there is a unit called a fire catapult in it, but I odnt know if it appears in any other conquests, though it dose NOT make one in the middle ages...

other then that, just renamed stuff

Most olds units stats are modded. For Rome, you get Legion 1, 2 and 3 (each an upgrade with a different tech). Rome gets citizens (settlers that get 2 movement and only cost 1 pop point. Some new structures are added, as well as a wonder (Bracchilla something). Fire Catapaults are also available. I can't remember all the unique units for Rome, but Rome has 3 traits (indutrious, militerisitic, and commercial). Most techs are new, and Rome only has to research around 8 techs to finish the tech tree. Imperialism is a new gov., and it is very good (150% worker effiency, low unit support cost, no WW, same corruption as democrary, etc..). I guess you will have to play this scenario for yourself to find out all the changes :D :).

I just finished Rise of Rome as the Persians on Regent. I won with 4669 points, 50% pop and 20% land. I had all of the middle east, greece, Egypt and the Balkans. It took 80 turns.

Great scenario! Great map.

rise of rome--as rome won with 65% population and 19% land. as rome you CANNOT make peace with carthage, its war till you eliminate every city!! slows you down a little

Macedonia and Persia seems to be the same "locked" war arrangement. By the end of my game war was rampant among all nations.

I don't think Rome should have forced war with Carthage because there were peace treaties between the 2 peoples. Is it possible to start a civ at war, but not force them to stay at war?

I just finished my first conquest- Mesopotamia on Regent as the Babylonians.

Early on I ran into the Phoneicans and the Sumerians, and that pretty much blocked my expansion east, west and south, so north was the only way left to go. While I was still expanding, most of my cities were left empty, as my warriors were pre-emptively taking out barbs before they could get my settlers (it's a necessity to strike first in the scen b/c warriors are 2.1.1).
As luck would have it, the Sumerians would take this opportunity to declare war. I was no match for their army numerically nor for the Enkidu warriors qualitatively, but after the war dragged on for a while with nothing happening, I managed to kill one of their Enkidu's with a Bowman, and lauched my GA. At that point the Sumerians made peace too.

It was still early in the tech tree, and the only wonder available to build war Artemis, and I had about 20 turns left. Soon though, I got an SGL, switched Artemis to Pyramids and then rushed Artemis in another city. I unwittingly got the GA at a perfect time, more wonders to build showed up soon, and the sci boost was handy.

This is where my game turned around. Before I was worried about threats from every direction and whether I could expand enough, but with peace between myself and Sumeria, and the free temples filling in my culture holes, I got comfortable.
From this point, I think there was probably no question I'd win so long as I stayed vigilant and paid attention to what I was doing. By the time I finished the Pyramids I was building the Mausoleum and the Hanging Gardens (in Babylon it turns out).

Before long I was at least a few techs ahead of everyone, and by the end I was far ahead. I finished the whole tree w/ about 20 turns to spare, and I won w/ 10 to spare by building the Lighthouse. The only two I didn't build were Zeus and Colossus.
I ended up w/ 5405 VPs (Only 95 short of a VP victory), everyone else was about btwn 1500 & 2000. And I had about as much culture at the end as everyone else combined.

So it went well, obviously, I'm surprised I was able to do so well w/ people surrounding me on every side, but as you can see, luck had quite a bit to do w/ that too.

Hey, these are great. Thanks everyone. I'm currently working on the Rise of Rome

Rise of Rome is so much fun. I had Greece and Carthage attacking each other with stacks of galleys. Sometimes up to 5 a stack. Then everyone declared war on me:(

Just got my first victory. Time limit victory in Mesopotamia as the Medes. I was quite proud of myself until I realized that I had been playing the whole Conquest on Chieftain!

Oh well, a victory is a victory.

I just hit a victory in WW2 Pacific with Japan on Monarch. It was a VP victory. :) I moved really fast, took over most areas and many islands within the first 8 turns. Things started to get rough at mid game, I lost alot of planes from AI fighters, but in the end I managed to pull it all off.

I can't figure out why my screencap sucks, but I got a flat 5700 with the Phonecians. Wonder victory. They're pretty damn good.

My Mesoamerica score isn't too good I think... 1407 with Mayan, 2000 culture in capital. Hehe, sacrificing tons of Olmec can be fun!

Both on Monarch.

I have a feeling the Mesos will be my favorite Conquests :goodjob: ... most of the other maps seem too large.

Also, what happened to epic game hall of fame?

It's there. From the Hall of Fame screen that lists the Conquests, just click the circle in the lower right corner.
