Shouldn't you have like Shoshenq or someone like that as the Libyan leader? I mean he'd be a better leader than Qaddafi. And for UU I think the ancient Libyans had famous archers.

Shoshenq were Egyptian rulers, so it wouldn't work well, if anything they'd work best for a Berber civ. Libya -did- have some infamous archers in their early history, so that could work. They were known for being mostly untrained, but vicious and wielding daggers just as well as their bows... so I guess they'd be archer replacements that have -1 strength but have a large boost against melee units.

Maybe a Barbary Corsair could be an idea, replacing Caravel with extra movement and +50% Carevels. Tripolitana was indeed a center for piracy.

This too is a good idea.

Here is my UB suggestions
- Pirate Harbor replacing Drydock, only avaible earlier (Astronomy?)
- Libyan School (+1 :science:) (Libya have one of the highest percentages of people able to read and write in North Africa)

Other Suggestions are welcome.

And dFland, you think you could write me a City list for my Khorosan Empire? Just remember that their capital is Ctesiphon ;)

I'll get right on the city list.
Also, of the two, Libyan School as a +1 beaker university sounds best. Libyan School, Barbary Corsairs, with Gadaffi ruling... They'd have a pretty nice early naval unit, a nice mid-game science boost from their UB, and if he was still Cha/Ind they'd have a leader that could wonderspam early-game, then turn into a warmachine later on.

I'll finish them after Khorosan and Indonesia then, as Africa really hungers for more civs, something Europe already is full of. This might also be a good enough reason to get them into a Diplo II module... (hint, hint capo ;))

Couldn't agree more on Civ needing more African civs. Normally the only civs I even recommend are middle eastern/Saharan African.

Did my best on a city list:

Ctesiphon
Nisibis
Hatra
Seleucia
Arbela
Hecatompylos
Ecbatana
Asaak
Europus
Nisa
Arsacia
Dara
Merv
Susa
Tabae
Neh
Farah
Bactra
Edessa
Carrhae
Bamiyan
Beshiwar
Kashgar

I went with the Parthian-names where possible, and put them in an order so that the bigger cities or the ones closer to resources/water sources came first, whereas the late-conquered cities came in last.
I did remove a couple major cities that were more well known under other empires (Persepolis and Babylon only.)

Also, as always, if you need/want help with personalities, just ask. I'm gonna go ahead and remake my old Gadaffi personality, since I learned a few tricks making a Mad Queen Maria I personality for Capo.

I wouldn't use the middle one at all, he is supposed to be Scythian. Bakuel's units are, in my opinion, the best units you can use. However, most people are probably already using his units for their Persian civ. So it depends on what the rest of your set looks like (if there is a set).

And what exactly is the UU going to be?

Kenya's a biggie I've been thinking about but have never actually seen a civ for (at least to memory.)
I'd imagine them as being something along the lines of...

Starting Techs: Fishing / Agriculture

Unique Building: Safari / Nature Preserve - A coliseum replacement that gives a small gold boost and gives extra happiness from elephants.

Unique Unit: Luo Fisherman - A half priced workboat.

Leaders: Jomo Kenyatta (Financial/Organized) , Dedan Kimathi (Aggressive/Protective)

The UU could be better, fishing boats are pretty cheap anyway.

Got a better idea.
Maasai Warrior as a Spearman replacement that has 5 strength instead of 4?

Here is a pic of current Indonesia. Their UB is added with own art, but their UU is still Zulu Impi, their LH still the Khmer guy and civilopedia still incomplete.

Sounds neat, quick correction though: You typoed boost as boos in the strategy section.

And dFland, how long time do you think you would use to write a Personality for Hayam Wuruk and Suharto? If you have the time, I would be pleased if one of the masters did it. I know how to do it myself, but generally Minos did not turn out that good. Just remember that this is for normal civ and not BBAI ;)

Edit: I have thought a bit and my conclusion is that if I release this for Diplo II to, then I shall include a 3rd leader, Dharmasetu of Sri Vijaya with Seafaring and Expansive as traits. I have also decided to put Hayam on Imp/Agg and Suharto in Diplo II on Org/Nat

I'm flattered. :p I'll have both personalities to you by tommorow at the latest. Lucy you I'm extremely familiar with both leaders (especially Hayam.)

GREAT! :goodjob:

Edit: Then everything left is my Leader-art and the unit Bakuel is making me :woohoo:

Edit2: And about that barbary corsair, I think we should add the hidden nationality. Everybody will understand where it is from, but sinking enemy caravels to ensure that you win the 'prove that the wold is round' race without declearing war could be pretty neat. And this would also add to the 'Barbary pirate' effect.

Agreed on the barbary corsair. However, in that case, I'd make its bonuses entirely just hidden nationality and either the +1 speed or bonus against other caravels, instead of all three. That might be kinda overpowered.

You should take away its hidden nationality because, although it would only be a slight one, it would give the human an advantage over the AI. What you SHOULD do is allow it to enter rival territory (i.e. like the Caravel), and that's it. Don't make it have hidden nationality.

EDIT: Didn't see last two posts; I would suggest altering the nose even more, perhaps make it a bit wider/flatter (?). It looks like the NifSwap wasn't done properly, I remember I Had a lot of trouble with this one myself. Try another NifSwap, and see what it looks like in-game. DO NOT ALTER AT AFTER THIS (even if the test went badly) and show me a screen. I had trouble with this model IIRC.

Okay, no hidden nationality, but enter rival territory with extra movement and +25% v caravel.

Edit:
And I might do something with the nose too. I shall try to nifswap first.

I agree both with the new stats and that his nose should -probably- be kinda flat.
Also, almost done with Wuruk and Suharto, playtested both personalities, doing some tweaking right now.

I gave Suharto Fin/Ind, with Police State as is favorite civic and Islam as his religion, then Hayam Wuruk Agg/Imp, Hereditary Rule, and Hinduism, if you want me to change any of that.

Thanks!

Edit: I see now that Suhart is really going to love to poision my water supply...

I gave him a high espionage rating for the same reason I feel Mao, Stalin, Hitler, etc. deserve it. Suharto was -really- big on investigating his own people, keeping them in line, etc. Same reason I gave him Police State as a fav civic.
He's less of a leader who'll conquer big neighbors and start fights, and more of the kind of guy that conquers the civs at the bottom of the list, and tries to screw over those at the top via means of espionage and lack of willingness to trade.
I figure that'll be pretty awesome combined with a trait combo that allows him to be somewhat of an isolationist builder.

Wuruk is who you need to watch out for, though. Playstyle wise, he should be sort of a mix of Montezuma and Pacal II, with an emphasis on naval attack units (Sadly, I think only Ragnar, Peter, and Pericles have naval units set as their preference in base-game.)

Here he is in game. There is only a small eyeshadow bug, but else he looks quite nice. It is almost like i would lke to stick my hand into my computer and start dragging him in his chin just like you do with small children

Edit: and I do not remember, but where do I edit so some parts shine a bit more?

I still think his face needs work, although it looks good overall. You need to add shaders to get the shiny parts working. :goodjob:

dFland, you said you knew a lot about Hayam Wuruk. Then, is this pedia good enough? Any additions you want?
Spoiler :

Hayam Wuruk[\H1][NEWLINE][BOLD]King of Majapahit[\BOLD][NEWLINE][BOLD]Lived:[\BOLD] 1334 to 1389 AD[NEWLINE][PARAGRAPH:2][BOLD]Background:[\BOLD][PARAGRAPH:1]Born as the fourth monarch of Majapahit, he is credited as a bright, talendted, handsome and exceptional in the courtly martial arts, he was educeted with the purpose of being the next Majapahit king. His reign marked the peak of Majapahit glory.[PARAGRAPH:2:1]When Rajapatni, Hayams grandmother, died in 1350, Tribhuwana, Hayams mum and queen of Majapahit, had to descend from the throne because she ruled Majapahit under Rajapatni's auspices, and she must relinquish her throne to her son. He inherited the throne at an age of 16, at the same time as his Prime Minister, Gajah Mada, was at the height of his career. With the help of Gajah Mada, Hayam extended his rule all trough the Indonesian archipelago.[PARAGRAPH:2:1]In 1357, Hayam was to marry the princess of the Sunda kingdom. The reasons of this royal engagement was probably a political one, to foster alliance between Majapahit and the Sundanese Kingdom. However in the Bubat incident, the Sunda royal family and their guards was involved in skirmish with Majapahit troops. The planned royal wedding ended in disaster with the death of the princess and the whole of Sunda royal party. The court officials blamed Gajah Mada, because it was his intention to demand submission from Sunda Kingdom that ended in bloodshed.[PARAGRAPH:2:1]Several years later, Hayam wed his cousin, Sori, and they had a daughter who later married to a relative, Wikramawardhana, who then became the Crown Prince. However Hayam also had a son, Wirabhumi, with the royal concubine, and after Hayams death in 1389, Wirabhumi tried to seize the throne from Wikramawardhana. Although Wikramawardhana crushed the rebellion in the end, is severly weakeden Majapahit and this can be seen as the start of its decline.[PARAGRAPH:1

I like it. :goodjob:

Looks like Mao with a silly hat on a day he forgot to color his hair

Yeah. That's... an -extremely- poor quality LH, on par with the earliest LHs people did.

First of all, if Civ V doesn't plan on having a Norse civ that is yet another item on the list of reasons I am not going to switch to Civ V for a while. Jeez, what is the matter with those people?

Secondly, getting the lighting over is pretty easy actually. Go into NifSkope, see those things on the left that look kinda like light-bulbs? They are yellow and on a black strip type thing? Erase those from the LH you are editing, open Huayna Capac's LH and copy his little yellow light-bulb thingies over to whichever LH you are editing. Sorry, not as good as Ekmek's tutorial, but whatever. That's how I roll.
