Controller question: Is there a way to put the cursor on screen?

When you play with a keyboard and mouse, your mouse is always "active" on the screen. You can move the camera to any location on the map and your mouse is always on that screen. Your mouse never gets like trapped one a different part of the map than you're viewing. It's always active on the screen. When you play with a controller, camera controls and cursor controls are two separate inputs. Your cursor is located on a physical location on the map. If you move the camera, your cursor stays off screen and whatever map location it was at. I don't know of any to move the camera and then make the cursor be on the screen.

If you're confused it's like... imagine you have a long web page and that you can scroll through. It would be like you scroll the scroll wheel to the bottom of the page and you want to click on a link, but your mouse cursor is still physically on the top of the site so you have to do a bunch of dragging it down until it finally shows up on the screen at the bottom of the site. The mouse doesn't just apply to whatever is on the screen, it's "physically" locked to part of the site.

Has anyone found a workaround for this? I just want to be able to move the camera, click some button, and now the cursor is on the screen rather than stuck somewhere else. I've experimenting with mapping Move to Position and Left Clicks... I can't tell if I don't get it or if it's a bug, but it will literally do exactly what I want once, then if I ever move the cursor somewhere else, and move the camera to a different place and try it again... literally nothing happens. If go into the controller settings and setup the customization again, it'll work once more and then stop. I don't know if it's a bug or if I fundamentally don't understand what move to position and left click mean.

Edit: Actually I just needed to set one of the sticks to be the mouse rather than "Navigation" and turn down the sensitivity down. I can't imagine playing this on console and not having the option to make the stick for navigation just be a mouse.

No, there's no way. Which sucks, as Civ 6 had it.
Hoping there'll be an update for this soon.

I play on PC but with a controller.

There is not. And its really bad. At least on Switch there are touch controls beside the sticks. Not that I am happy how bad the controls are now. But I am absolutely sure they will fix the controls eventually.
One thing that is baffling. No one even tried playtesting controller when the game is on every possible platform...? How in the world? Sometimes I feel like this game was made with AI.

To each their own, but this game plays so much better with a mouse and keyboard. I can't imagine choosing the controller!

I play on the couch, pc is hooked up to the 4k living room OLED.

I don't like MKB gaming anymore, sitting behind a desk is what I do enough of during the day.

It seems like a small thing, but the more I play this game the more it bothers me that they did the map/cursor movement this way with controller. I mean, they already had a system that worked in Civ 6. It doesn’t seem likely that it’s a bug. Did someone just screw up? Or, did one of the devs actually decide “Ya know, I think it’s better to have to move your cursor hex by hex all over a huge map.” I really hope it was just a screw up. Little things like these matter, and it makes me doubt this company’s attention to detail. Sadly, I have this sinking feeling that they are never going to change it. I’ve been down this road before.
