Thanks Thunderfall for the praise. It's not like I did anything anybody else couldn't do with the same resources, I just happened to be the first. (atleast to my knowledge) Anyway I updated my site today for the ToTers so they can have the Instant Advice and Tutorial pop-ups. I believe Thunderfall will update the site when he gets a chance.

Civ2 Gold for MAC is widely available. You should just buy it in stores.

Oh god why!!! Now instead of 5 hours of Civilization 2 I maybe up it to 7 hours a day. I think the FDA should look into Cedric for distributing such an addictive drug!

i have original cd with civ II nad patched it to 2.42, i tried about 2 hours installing this 5 packages with upgrade patch and it's screaming "bad track something this is not tracker WIN32" something like that, no way to apply this patch and still no multiplayer in my civ2

please help with installing this

i managed installing files but not everyuthing is ok after chosing MULTIPLAYER from menu it shows me hall of fame and returns to main menu

Hmmm... Ritchie what country are you in? This has only been tested by me on Win 9x systems with the game created for distribution in USA. I have no idea whether or not it would work in a foreign version. If you have ICQ I may be able to help you more. First though I would reinstall the Civ 2 and then reinstall the patch, (don't need to upgrade it to 2.42 to my knowledge) if it still gives you crap let me know.

Every time that I try to apply the patch to my tot files I get some kind of "access denied, go & ask your mommy for permission".
Does anyone have any ideas that might help?

Well Corn I dled that program and was in the process of making an exe when I realized that this was NOT a clean version I had installed on my computer and my friend has my copy of classic. I think I can get it to work with just a clean version of MGE but then there's the other problems. I can't post a file bigger than 12mb on my sites and this would end up being TWO 12+mb files.

WOW!!! Did you try zipping the files after they were created?

The thing is that the patcher will include all changes to existing files. Instead of just pasting over missing or changed files. Now......I think we can work on making it smaller. The .exe's may be compressible or maybe we can change some of the options to make it make the patch better.

Hummm....I'll take a look when I get home.

Well I just redid the exe's with a clean install of MGE though I know realize I didn't update it to the official 1.3 nor the no limits 1.7(GRRRRR) but the sizes of the files are the following from 2.42 to MGE 11479KB and Tot to MGE 7247KB. So my guess is these are tolerable to AOL rules but I don't know if I have the space left nor the patience to upload such a file to AOL (nor can I test these, as I said my friend has my classic cd)

alright I redid the EXE patches for the No Limits version of Civ2 but I think I only have room enough for one or the other so who seems to be having more trouble 2.42'ers or ToTers?

Alright I upped the ToT exe to my site. For those having problems with the zips you can try this. It will tell you whether or not its going to work when you try to install it. Hope it helps.

I downloaded the new patch. When i try to install it into my civ2 directory I get a message, This program cannot update the installed version of civ2 MGE Patch ToT because of the following reason h:\CIV2\civ2.exe: unknown version.
