Title says it all

A few weird discoveries I found:

1. My mom got a video camera and when connected to the computer it showed up as an HDD. The movie files were MOD files, which didn't play in Media Player Classic or VLC (despite VLC being the default program for it). I solved it simply by renaming the MOD extension to a MPG.

3. OpenWith If you search for file extension on this site, it'll usually give you a free program thats able to open the file. For more obscure ones I use Filext

EDIT: Did something weird. Vista was acting sorta weird (I right clicked on an icon, and the menu was a "ghost" on the screen even after clicking off it). so instead of rebooting, I killed explorer.exe and reopened it again. The problem resolved itself.
