So this is where you are nowadays- I wondered what happened to CornMaster on Apolyton...

In what ways is this site better than apolyton?

I like the Civ II story forum

Yep this is the upcoming ruler of the civing world

I believe we're better than apolyton. We have more information and files(scenarios, ect....) the only thing apolyton has on us is more members and a bigger reputation. Since they were the big boy on the block they're the site to go to for Firaxis. Firaxis doesn't know what they're missing here

Welcome to CFC!

Apolyton Who?!

How many scenarios do you have?

Apolyton had 120 or so...

It seems like a good site, much better than when I visited it in March and better than my visit in September 2000.
smile.gif

Much bigger than it was in December 1999, and a new domain name
smile.gif

how hard can it be to copy all of apolyton´s scenario files to civfanatics and create one more?

WHERE IS MY SCENARIO ON CIVFANATICS (apolyton have it...scenario creator ChrisHutch).

Ah, but it would be illegal to do that unless Apolyton gave permission

Apolyton does not own scenarios.
Neither do their creators for that matter, once they are on the net, they are in the public domain.
As a courtesy, most sites ask for permission of the scenario designer to host a given scenario.

WHERE IS MY SCENARIO ON CIVFANATICS (apolyton have it...scenario creator ChrisHutch).
What is the name of the scenario, and when did you submit it?

.

Civfanatics vs Apolyton?

Well here's my word for it...

When I first decided to search for MP games over the net (6-7 months ago) I first found the Zone. At the time I didn't even know the existance of CivForums so I would have sticked to the Zone. But...I am on a mac...So I forgot about the Zone and kept on searching.
Then I found Apolyton. First thing I read was: "the first greek site for civ" <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/biggrin.gif" border=0> and I decided to subscribe. The day after the server was down so I couldn't enter. <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/frown.gif" border=0>
When I finally entered the forums I wasn't satisfied by what I saw: an awful blue layout and spamers everywhere in off-topic.
Then I tryed to find the mac section. Impossible! So I went to the site's links and fell on Civfanatics <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/smile.gif" border=0>
Now this place I liked! It was desined well, "poster-friendly", no spamers, and a very good home page!
Downloads? Not-so-bad, but who cares? There are plenty of other sites to do that...(like apolyton <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/biggrin.gif" border=0>

Well I think this is because these people came very early here...

Look at how easilly postsers could become mods at a time

<IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/lol.gif" border=0>

BTW this is not against mods; I just found it funny. And I must say it's rather logical too since the forums didn't have a lot of members then...

I go to both sites every day, all through the day.
TF and gang have done a nice job with CFC.

BTW, I'm part of Ladder staff here, and giving some thoughts on Tribes.

I wouldn't say its any better or worse.Just a different flavor(without self proclaimed internet celebrities).

Neither do their creators for that matter, once they are on the net, they are in the public domain.

Actually... according to Copyright Law you have to ask permission to 1: post anything from the forums on a website (and) 2: post any creative work on your site

It's a crappy law, but it is a law

Geez dc, you weren't kidding when you said this stuff was your hobby huh?

I frequent both each day I'm at work and occassionally on weekends. I don't really have a preference as I like both, for various reasons.

Kefka, just ask Thunderfall and he'll check 'em out.
