Ok gents, let's get this show on the road!
We now have 5 players (welcome Civ2Units!) and I'm still hoping to hear from Fairline that he will join us as well. Please download the scenario here:
https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/bonaparte-v2-for-test-of-time.12470/ Unfortunately, the MP version has not been converted to ToT, so we will have to use the SP version. EXCEPTION: use the Events file from the MP version. It eliminates a number of events that are only suitable for single player games.
Curt, could you please make the following changes to the Rules Txt.? No population loss to cities from battles or capture and City Walls not destroyed when a city is captured. People will have to have the ToT Patch Project installed for this feature to work. (I'm not sure if it matters which version. Anyone?)
In order of strength, the available civs are: France, England, Russia, Austria, Prussia, Spain, and Sweden. Voltar and Curt have both called for Russia, but Voltar was first. Curt, would you mind choosing another civ? I've bid for Spain, but I'm flexible. France and England both need a human player. I suggest if we only have 5, then we let the AI handle Prussia and Sweden. If Fairline (or anyone else) joins then we could leave Sweden to the AI, or let someone have both. So who wants what?
I suggest one house rule: Ground units may only land from ships into a tile which they started the turn adjacent to. This would not apply to units landing in a friendly controlled port. This is to prevent an army landing in the face of an enemy fleet that is superior. It gives the superior fleet the opportunity to intercept the invasion force. For example, I saw one game where the French landed an army in England, despite the Royal Navy having the much larger fleet. By the time the Brits could move their ships, it was too late. Thoughts?
If anyone else wants to join, please let us know. We can accommodate 2 more players.
