Cost of moving buildings

[Minor Annoyance]

Sometimes they can be moved for free (or recycled for there full value), but others not, and I'm not sure when it which. When you select to move a building it seems that you're actually recycling it and building it again somewhere else so if you get it's full value back then you are just moving it, and with base level buildings you can just verify the cost to make sure it's the same. Not larger building are different. I don't know how much it costs to rebuild a large forge so I don't know how much I'm losing by recycling my large forge and rebuilding it elsewhere, or evel if that's possible. I moved a modest guard tower and found it had downgraded to a small tower possibly because I didn't have enough production to rebuild it as a large one.
So does anyone know the real costs of moving things?

Small buildings, except guard towers + village greens, have no penalty when removing.
Modest, large and ginormous buildings have a production penalty when being recycled.

Tatran is correct so far as I have experienced in-game thus far.

This is not quite right. You get 3/4 of the total resources spent on a Modest Building (not including towers/village greens), 2/3 for a Large Building, and 5/8 for a Ginormous one. You always get more than half, except for buildings that reveal the map.

So, for example, it costs 200 Hammers to build a Granary, and 200 to upgrade it, for a total of 800 Hammers for a Ginormous Granary. Recycling a Ginormous Granary gives 500 Hammers, which is 5/8 of 800.

Punctuator is right about the recycling numbers.
A guard tower and village green have much higher remove/recylce penalty.
A ginormous guard tower costs 400 production and recycling it will give 125 production.

Having it be called move in the first place is deceiving and needs to just be renamed to ' recycle'. What the game does it technically delete said structure and give you back the appropriate resources, then constructs a new tier 1 building where you want to.
