As the saying goes: “EVERYBODY HAS A PLAN UNTIL FIRST CONTACT WITH THE ENEMY.”
(Sun Tzu) ... my peaceful plans lasted until I met Russia & the Inca on my front lawn. The terrain did not lend itself to troop factories, so I headed for Mathematics and the Statue of Zeus (finish in 670 BC. Entered the Middle Ages in 510 BC as the tech leader. The Dutch get pissed in 775 BC when I don't give him Republic and my first war begins. I've got a couple AC's heading to the border to await the Dutch troops.

As the saying goes: “EVERYBODY HAS A PLAN UNTIL FIRST CONTACT WITH THE ENEMY.”
(Sun Tzu) ...

Is this really Sun Tzu? I know the following quote, sometimes attributed to Carl von Clausewitz, sometimes to Napoleon Bonaparte, but most probably from Helmuth von Moltke:
"No plan survives the first contact with the enemy."

I found it on a site about making impactful decisions, but I just looked again it's also attributed to von Clausewitz, von Moltke and Colin Powell, depending on the exact wording. Since Sun Tzu is the oldest and the is no von Moltke War College, I gave him the credit. We know for sure it wasn't Sid Meier!!
