COTM54 - Final Spoiler

So in the end I managed to launch in 1655AD. Probably not a good date, but so far it looks like I was the only one who went for space, so perhaps I get the medal...?! :mischief: Jason somewhere in the 6000s.
Sorry no - I launched in 1590AD and got 8563 Jason score.

We had a RoP at that time, therefore I surrounded that Cav by workers and put a couple of MechInf in the cities close by. Sure enough the next turn India declared on me and captured three workers. (I didn't know so far, that Cavalry has the "blitz" feature  ?)
Lanzelot

AFAIR it works like that: if You attack using any movement point of a fast unit, You won't be able to attack again that turn or to capture a worker.
BUT if You capture a worker (and haven't attacked before during that turn) using any movement point, You will be able to attack or to capture second or even third one.
thus You can capture workers from several tiles with fast unit without blitz.

i've also launched SS, but due to my indecisiveness to VC (and general mess) it happened in early 19th century... with Jason around 6,1k.
anyway, nice game after a long break.

Should have gone at max and aim at Republic slingshot, it was easy achievable in this game

yes, that was one bad decision i think. the slingshot could have brought me cavs earlier (since that was the way i went) and i may already have used them against germany, where i lost several turns.

Could have researched Chivalry and stopped research then. Used horse->knight upgrade via connecting/disconnecting iron. Knights is all you need on Demigod to win fast.

i pondered this but i am not sure it would have made me really faster to stay with knights. i had the impression that my economy allowed research AND cash rushing. it was bringing them over to the other island that cost me time, and i could not have avoided it by stopping research. and against india, i say i was happy about cavs in the struggle with their extra hp-pachyderms. but i really have to try conquest with knights soon.

disconnect/reconnect is sth i would never do, not even in a Xotm game. to me it is one of the things i feel go most against the spirit of my game and it would kill my fun in playing. (this is sure not meant as an offense to anyone who uses this trick! i think each of us has his own view on this and his own set of special rules, this is just mine).
and i realize that there is a lot of other improvements to make in my game.

Also I guess you build too many things that you don't need like many markets, libs, courthouses, temples.

it depends what you see as too many: sth like 7 markets, 4 libs, 2 temples? ;) no, i dug the builder in me and did no building in this conquest game.

thanks again for your comments.
