Due to the difficulty, we'll have one more thread to cover the from the Middle Ages through the end of the game; and since this is the FINAL spoiler, you can pretty much say anything about your entire game. Cossacks - did they play a part?

My game dragged on way into AD times; I didn't see a good way to amass enough units for a fast military victory. The complicated geography and the rather meagre starting area didn't help. We got only one food bonus, entangled in jungle.

The French ToA gave a boost in striving towards the domination limit, but I wanted to pursue both conquest and domination. It turned out that I had hurried too many libraries to get a pure ConDom victory. (Domination would be reached one turn before conquest was possible.) I considered revolting or selling off libraries, but in the end I decided that domination in 660 AD was a bit better than conquest in 660 AD (or indeed 670 AD, which is what I would have achieved) and just pressed enter.

No, I saw no reason to employ cossacks. A couple of knights armies are overwhelming at this level. A wonder initiated golden age was not a bad thing: Colossuss and Great Lighthouse were both useful - especially the former, built at a time when horsemen couldn't be built anyway - and The Mausoleum is pretty cheap. But I could and should have finished The Mausoleum earlier.

It will be interesting to see if people have found ways (other than better micromanaging) to get a considerably faster victory then me.

550 - Conn. horses. Germany get Engineering. Can't talk peace with Babs.
530 - Peace with Babs. Gift, they get Monotheism.
510 - A division of my huge army, i.e. one of my two warriors, defeated an invading Aztec warrior.
390 - Mausoleum of Marcellus, GA.
250 - Chivalry. Research off.
90 BC - War on Babs.
190 AD - Destroyed Babs.
260 - Captured Pyramids of Tenochtitlan.
290 - Aztecs 1 town peace.
380 - Great leader spawned while taking 4th French town. (They have ToA.) Builds army, naturalmente.
460 - Leader #2, army #2.
600 - Destroyed Hittites.
640 - France destroyed, Iroquois destroyed, GAME CRASH, Let's try again: France destroyed, Iroquois destroyed, Aztecs destroyed. The Germans have built another town in the remote appendix of their continent.
660 - Domination. Conquest would have been achieved the next turn.
 
Great you tried again for and practically pulled off another ConDom victory, Megalou!

Obviously I do not participate in this one. But seeing your awesome playing (in a way that WATCHING is fun) and thinking of our GOTM 100-games may lead me to taking my time for one of the next games again.

Come summer, Mr Templar, it may be my turn to lack time. On the other hand, everyone needs some way to get away from domestic and other duties, and Civ3 is never far away, requires no preparation (barring spreadsheets if you have that inclination) and no physical effort. In fact, I think you should come back right now, T_x.
 
Contraception for me too: conquest declared in 880ad, at 94 tiles over the dom limit, with Artemis popping the turn after my final kill. <10k Jasons.
I did go to cossacks, which obviously isn't optimal, but I never turn down the chance to use a cavalry UU, just because cavs are my favourite unit in the game. Of course, C3C cossacks are pretty crummy because they tend to get elite a bit faster, and as we all know, elites mostly manage to lose fights that vets could handle with their hands tied behind their backs. I'm also not particularly impressed with only one great leader from 28 elite wins before the Epic plus 18.5 wins after it. I made a cossack army, but never got an FP built.
My basic route of conquest was to cross west with the Lighthouse, and progress clockwise through Babylon, Aztec, Hittite, Germany and France, and then finish off with the Quois. I switched directly from using horses to cossacks in 610ad, during the Hittite campaign, starting my GA with a UU win.

After Moscow got to size 12, I finally had some time to build a core and indeed managed to setup a small but very productive empire. It allowed 4-turn research for most of the MA and IA. The AIs were pathetic in this game... was this Warlord or Regent?! If I hadn't traded a tech for workers or luxes once in a while, all AIs would still have been in the Middle Age by the time I reached the Modern Age...

The only thing I don't understand: my date... 1762AD. After the AA I thought things were going quite well. Either I misplayed this somewhere, or the start was indeed too poor for a good 20K date.

Somewhere in between where rushed: Aqueduct, Factory & Coal Plant, Harbor & Offshore Platform.
A bit sloppy play at the end. At one point I used an Army as a pre-build and then forgot to switch to the wonder, when the tech was completed... Also I should've pushed research a bit more to get the modern wonders earlier (instead of Wallstreet and Military Academy).

Short review
My people made republic sling shot easily, took all first tier techs after entering MA and stopped research after chivalry. I conquered the world with horses and knights only - except for two warriors kidnapping coastal workers... :satan:

GA was started by hand-building GLH and MM...
I had mixed up SCI and SEA as GA igniting traits of the GLH :wallbash: and was surprised not to start my GA by finishing GLH. :hammer2:
I had even delayed GLH by switching to FP in my 2nd town because I had too few towns for a GA... :crazyeye:
So when I finally got MM built, the game was almost over and the final ten turns of my GA I did not use those extra shields in my core too excessive... :gripe:

I'll post a timetable in the evening.
 
Unfortunately I didn't get to finish, but I will describe what was achieved.

Entered MA in 410bc.

The remaining civs were found - France 390bc and Iroquois 190bc.
170bc Russia DOW on Aztecs and by 50ad peace treaty the Aztecs were reduced to a single Tundra city SW of the landmass.
260ad Babs DOW on Russia and by 330ad peace treaty Babs reduced to 2 cities.
350ad Hittites DOW on Russia. MA agreed with Babs.
380ad Russia DOW on Iroquois and agree MA with France and Germany. I am trying to keep the others in conflict.
390ad 1st MGL Knight army built (forgetting that I can not transport it off the island).
450ad Hittites destroyed.
460ad Russie DOW on Babs 480ad Babs destroyed.
580ad Peace agreed with Iroquois and MA's cancelled.
590ad Russia DOW on France and MA with Iroquois and Germany.
700ad France severly depleted but unfortunately no further time to play before the deadline. Game abandoned.

I would have expected to have reached a domination victory around 800ad.
