One last spoiler to cover the later part of the game, or any part you wish to discuss. How did Rome pull this one off? Did your Commercial trait come in handy?

First Mayans died out, then Hitites, then Celts. I was left with Aztecs and Sumers as superpowers and struggling Carthage. I didn't know that for diplo there can be 3 candidates. Sadly I got most votes but it was inconclusive... I couldn't get myself going for a space or military victory as it would take so much more time... I think I made a mistake long ago by putting Hitites and Aztecs at war against Sumers thinking they are all on the same continent...

Sumeria decided to sneak attack me, leaving me in an uncomfortable position with little real-life time to play it out. I don't know if I could have managed to win, given sufficient time, but there is no way I could win it by the deadline. I decided to give away all my cities and take a loss, rather than retire, in hopes of collecting another ambulance.

Having the GOTM and COTM deadlines so close together didn't work out well for me. I hope they get spaced farther apart again soon.
