Do courthouses have a cumulative effect for your entire empire or only for the city they are built in?

Also what about other corruption easing items?

Thanks,

Keith

First there is the Police Station. Will reduce it
Connection to capital (roads, searoute)
Goverment (Democracy is best)
Distance to capital (You can build forbidden palace close if needed)
We love the king/president/emperor in city! (will reduce it)

If you are under communism, courthouses will be cumulative because total coruption is spread equaly through all your city. So courthouse and police station are very good to built before going into communism ( to wage a long domination war)

Sorry to keep correcting everybody on corruption issues. I feel like such a geek. :cringe:

...but courthouses affect only the city they are in, even in communism. The same goes for things like roads or harbors, and WLTK day for waste.

In communism, corruption is independent of each city's distance from the capital (or FP), but that's the only unique aspect of that government.

According to civilopedia; corruption and waste are communal under communism, so unless i misinterprete civilopedia or there is a mistake, my previous post is right. Courhtouse and police station are cumulative for commi.
also under communism espionage have greater chance of succes

From playing communism, courthouses have the listed effect in the town they are built. ie. 25% corruption reduction. I would have to play a game specifically to look for any overall improvements. One doesn't make a noticable improvement in other cities.

When i play as a commi. i always got courthouse and police staion in EACH city and my corruption is very low, much better then monarchy.

I thought police stations were supposed to reduce war weariness, not corruption

This is the only

Yes it was a great post:goodjob: but i dont see a specific test about communal corruption under communism. Was it done?

Communal corruption should take efect when you have more city then the optimum. with courthouse and police station in each one it should be better because extra corrution should be spread over all city. maybe im confuse, im sorry, but in civilopedia they say corruption is communal under communism so it should mean courthouse and police station are cumulutative. here an ex. 100 lost to corrutption over 20 city so you loose 5 shield per city. then built a courthouse and a police station in 5 city. now you loose only 80 shield over 20 city so you loose only 4 shield PER city.Because corruption is communal if you reduce corruption in 5 city it will affect all the other.

I'm playing as a Commie. There is corruption and I deal with it in an interesting manner that seems to work better than building police stations. Police stations cost maintenance.

Before switching from Monarchy to Communism, I built marketplace, courthouse in all large cities. Then built Smiths trading company, then built banks, then went to Communism. Then built Wall Street which I burned a GL to complete.

In the very large cities, I have corruption, but then make tax collectors out of unhappy citizens. I've not had the need to build a lot of police stations. The courthouses keep it down, and the commerce keeps the economy flowing. I'm #2 in productivity and have managed to stay #1 in culture. I don't want a police state.

I burned another GL to build Theory of Evolution. Essentially I'm socialist. I've only had to pop rush 3 times.

I could be doing better moneywise per turn, but I've got research funded at 80% which keeps the treasury growing at only 40 per turn.

they changed the police station to reduce corruption in a patch a while back. if you never applied any patch it won't reduce corruption but if you apply a patch it does. in patch 1.21f the civilopedia says that it reduces war weariness and corruption.
