CPB Problems: Corporations and Monopolies

I seem to be having the error where I cannot play a game on Civ V because the Corporations and Monopolies screen opens up and I cannot exit out of it. This started yesterday on the 9/19 build, but after reinstalling it and trying the 10/9 build I do not know what to do. I have never had any of the JFD mods so that does not seem to be the issue. Are there any other fixes for my game to try?

3. Did you install manually or used automatic installer (.exe)?
4. After you updated to the newest version, did you start a new game?

1. I've only tried clearing the cache folder.
2. Yes
3. Automatic Vox Populi installer
4. Yes, all of my attempts were on new games

That's a bad install for sure. It happened the same to me. What worked for me was to completely remove MOD folder and then reinstall VP.

I did that and nothing, even completely removed the game and and got the same error

"Completely" as in "manually removed files after deleting it from inside Steam"? The game eats anything located in DLC folder so an unrelated modpack can screw with your installation.

I had exactly the same problem about two months ago. It took me hours to figure out that (for some strange reason) I had multiple copies of the same mod in my folder. Once I removed the duplicate mod it removed the Corporations & Monopolies screen error that you described:
