crash all the time on mac

You should probably try minimising every setting.

There must be crash logs in your system logs. It would be interesting to see where the failure is happening.

Video settings are in lowest status. I will try to disable V-Sync and try again.

Where can i exactly find the crash log? "Document/Aspyr/Logs" folder?

You can find them if you launch /Applications/Utilities/Console.app. Choose ~/Library/Logs/Crash Reporter and look for the Civ5 application.

I went on that location from Console.app but could not find the crash reporter for Civ5.

After disabling V-Sync, i have managed to play 8-9 hours without any crash. :)

Hmm. It may be listed as 'Sid Meier's Civilization V'. which is further down the list alphabetically. It would be surprising if you have crashes and no crash reports.

Anyway, it sounds as if disabling V-Sync may be the answer. :goodjob:

The system was freezing and i had to power off the mac from the power button by long pressing it..then restart the mac again. Even in this case there would be a crash report? Because, i was not getting any error message..

Thanks so much for your intention of helping. :)

No. There wouldn't be a crash report if you forced power down. There should be a diagnostic report, though. The system would not know which app caused you to kill it, but it ought to have recorded that you did.

I think that is the reason why i was not able to find the crash report in the directory you provided me.
It got freezed yesterday again after playing 2-3 hours. I think its about overheating.

I'm also having issues, but I'm running it in Parallels Windows XP on a Macbook Pro 2010 with 8 gigs of ram. I've had to hard-restart with each crash. The game runs slow, but the computer isn't overly hot, and the crashes seem to occur every time I get my first Great Artist/Writer/Musician (around 1000 BC on Quick Speed).

Any thoughts? Am I simply over-taxing my system?

Update: played directly from Bootcamp instead of Parallels - no issues.
