I just downloaded your mod Rise From Erebus for my Civilization 4 Complete which includes Beyond the Sword. However, upon start-up I get a "Sid Meier's Civilization 4 : Beyond The Sword has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I installed it to the default directory "C:\Program Files\2K Games\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Complete\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Rise from Erebus," checked if it was there, tried toggling different scripts and modules on teh launcher, but could not figure out how to get it to work. Is there a version of your mod without the fancy launcher and set up program that I can manually install and enable the old fashion way in the in-game mod menu? Because I'm sure it would work that way. If not, any help would be appreciated.

On a side note, I haven't taken any hallucinagens for teh past 2 days, and I'm sure I saw a message when I first started up teh mod saying along the lines; " Could not load, missing map scripts." But when I tried a second time, the launcher appeared. After I actually launch the mod is when the crash occurs.

Do you have the 3.19 patch? I have the complete edition, and it works fine.

Your problem is exactly what blade117 says; The in-game updater only updates to (IIRC) 3.13. Error on Firaxis's part. Download the 3.19 patch from either their main website or civfanatics (easy to find), install it, and then run RifE.

Wow, game companies sure don't give a #*^% about their old games once they start new ones it seems . Pretty unbelievable they don't let you have teh most current version of their game unless you get it yourself. I've played for roughly a year without the latest version, hope it didn't add much. Shame on Firaxis for not giving a damn.

On a side note, thanks a bunch for teh help, looking forward to enjoying this promising mod. Attempting your suggested solution now.
