Crash Problem W/O C2C

Whenever I deactivate C2C, Civ Crashes before the splash screen. Can anybody help me with this? I cannot run BTS vanilla or any other mod. This occurs even if I remove the Config file.

I presume you mean the INI file when you say config file. the one in your My Games/Beyond the Sword folder.

Have you also removed the BtS cache?

No.

I did copy the CD required version of the executables from an old install folder and that got it working. But it is annoying. It seems the no-cd version doesn't work with anything but C2C.

With the non-CD version I can play any other mod but I sometimes have problems if I don't get rid of the INI file first.

Unless... was the old install folder patched to 3.19?

I honestly don't remember but the newer folder was definitely upgraded. Since the old exe still works I am assuming so. I did get rid of the ini file and it didn't help.

The patch updates the exe. Does it load vanilla BtS OK? If it does but does not load the mods then it probably has not been patched to the latest version.

No. Vanilla BtS doesn't load either.

That suggests a bad install. Or you copied the C2C dll over the BtS one. I've done that before. It required a fresh install

BtW patch 3.19 is what makes it so you don't need the CD in, I think. You may need a CD in just not the Civ one.

I strongly suggest launching c2c from a shortcut that calls a seperate .ini file ( e.g. civivc2c.ini)
