Crash problems

I have a lot of crash problems with beyond the sword. They are all graphics related. I had minor graphics crash problems with the basic and warlords versions, but in beyond the sword it is very severe.

I use a Radeon 9200SE card.

In addition to this I am not able to load autosaves. I have added a autosave that loads but then hangs forever.

That autosave loads fine for me. Are you sure you posted the correct one?

After using a mem checker, reinstalling DirectX 9.0c and getting new video card drivers, the solution was to drop the graphics down to "medium". I had to do this on my laptop for vanilla but never for my "main" pc.

I have a Radeon 9800 video card and have major issues until I changed the graphics down to "medium".

I just bought this expansion package and am having simliar problems with my Radeon All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro. Most of the time the game wont even lauch, screens goes back and then dumps back to desktop with no error message. Sometimes I can get all the way through the create game dialog and into a game, but as soon as I move a unit it crashes to desktop (again with no message).

I see there are some patches availalbe I will try installing tonight, but I am not very happy that out of the box it doesn't even work (when Warlords has run flawlessly since they day i installed it).

Install the 3.13 patch - do not try to install 3.02 (which won't help) OR 3.03 (which will break even more). If 3.13 does not do the trick please post again.

Well I installed the 3.13 patch tonight (I did not touch the 3.02/3.03 patches, went straight from base to 3.13). It definately made a big improvement - with graphics settings on "Medium" and 1600x1050 resolution I was able to launch right into a game a start playing. Unfortunately after about 6 turns it crashed to desktop. There was what looked like the bottom half on an error message window, but it was empty and just had the "OK" button.

I have been having similar problems with Gal Civ 2 aswell, so I think maybe my All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro is just not cutting it anymore (although its not like I am trying to run crysis or something~!). Anyways, am going to install an X1950 on the weekend which should hopefully perform better. I will post again if I still have troubles.

I have actually frequented CFC for several years now, but this was just the first time I have ever posted.

I updated my video card from the AIW 9800 Pro to a X1950 Pro, as well as added 2GB more ram (3GB total now), and Civ4 BTS runs perfectly (in 1600x1050 with highest graphics settings). Looks really nice too!
