It's been a while since I've tried to play, I haven't been able to play a complete game in forever it seems like, but I feel like this problem might be specific enough to give a good idea what the problem is. On the turn when i complete Launch Earth Satellite, the game crashes after it uncovers 3 or 4 natural wonders.
Briefly, my rig: i5-2500k, 32gb of DDR3 ram, 2xNvidia 960 gtx 4gb SLI
This is on a YnAMP giant map, which I know is problematic - I've read you need 8gb of vram to play giant maps, but am unclear on whether 4gb cards in SLI would do the trick. Also, I know my CPU is old as dirt, and I've been debating upgrading to an i5-9400f, new mobo, and ddr4 memory. I'm wondering if yall think, with that ~$400 investment, I might finally be able to play a giant map game to completion. Thoughts?
