Crash when loading mods

Not sure if this should be in the mod thread or not, so decided to play it on the safe side and go here.

Basically, my problem is that when I try to load a modded save, the game crashes. However, if I start a brand new game with the same mods, that will work. In addition, if I quit, then load that new game, that will load.

I haven't manually updated any mods (click the update button), but I'm wondering if there are any mods that update themselves. Otherwise, is it a save corruption problem?

When you are trying to load the modded save file, are you going directly to Load Game on the main menu, or are you going through the Mods menu, verifying the right mods are enabled, and then proceeding forward through that menu to load the save?

The latter. This is with all the required mods for the save.
