CTDs are everywhere....

I have been playing personal mods of various M2TW mods and have been getting a little bored of them and then remembered my Civ disks (heresy I know to have forgotten!) and came on here downloaded fall from heaven and started up (FFH mod for vanilla Civ4).

But since I installed this mod on none of the Civ4 games (vanilla, BTS and Warlords) and the FFH mod do I have anything like jungles, forests etc and no resources showing on the map

And on top of that on all the games and mods again, I always lose on turn ten to a timed victory regardless of what I select for the victory conditions. And regardless of what I do (I cheated to see if giving myself an empire before turn ten would change anything.....nope - I still lost WTH?) so I am crying out in desparation for advice on what has happened I can't play Civ and a reli want to play this mod

edit: I really need some sleep! - I left out the fact that every 6 or 7 turns the all the games and the FFH mod crash....

I don't know what could be causing that, but it's not related to FfH2 since the problem is occurring in normal Civ as well.

Losing the game on turn 10 to a timed victory sounds very suspicious. Are you sure you aren't playing a demo of the game?

Jungles, forests, resources, number of turns... Could it be a corrupted map? Are you using the same map in every game?

I was playing Civ for a while before I got the mod with no problems.

And I'm not sure about the demo tho, just took one of the first links I found so I could find out what this mod was about and if it was any good (I love playing it and remember to save b4 the CTD and reload - a very very good mod incase you hadn't guessed! )

I have since got the FF2 mod and all the patches etc for BTS and so am in the process of excavating my room to find the disk!

edit: No, i have used highland, world, scenarios loads as i thought that might be the problem but it presists in all

I didn't mean a demo of FfH2, I meant a demo of Civ4. Since that apparently wasn't happening (losing the game after 10 turns) before you installed FfH2 you weren't using a demo. The problem might be a bad install of FfH2 (maybe it somehow corrupted some Civ files), or maybe a bad Civ4 patch (if you patched Civ4 to be able to run the current version of FfH2), or maybe unrelated. Once you find your CD I would suggest uninstalling Civ4 & FfH2, then reinstall Civ4, patch to version 3.19 (if possible use the standalone patcher, not the in-game patching interface), redownload FfH2 & install, and redownload the latest FfH2 patch & reinstall.

If that doesn't correct the problem then something else is the cause (hardware failure, virus, et c.). You might want to scan for viruses and defrag your hard drive before you even try reinstalling, if you haven't performed those maintenance tasks recently.

Also, I just noticed something I should have seen immediately. You said you were using "(FFH mod for vanilla Civ4)"...what version of FfH2 are you using exactly? The latest version of FfH2 is for BtS, not vanilla Civ. There would be problems if you were trying to use FfH2 0.41 with vanilla Civ, or FfH2 0.23c with BtS.

Hopefully reinstalling Civ4, BtS and BtS patch 3.19 will fix this. Also make sure you are using a legal copy of Civ4 and BtS.

yes i have all the CDs (gold version) bought from game so i would hope it was a legal version!
