I'm here to gauge interest on a DEITY game.

Here's the catch: to participate, you can never have played Deity EVER, and you can never have won on Emperor. SG newbies are welcome. We're going to lose this one the HARD WAY!

If you're interested, let me know. I'm making it a 7-person roster, and we're playing 10 turns apiece until AD, and then 5 turns (I want to minimize the impact any given player can have).

I'm thinking Continents, 40% Land, no Militaristic Opponents. I'll take any suggestions for Civ to play (and patchset to play on), and the members will vote accordingly (we're a democracy here).

My goal with this game is a shock to the system, and the chance to have some fun. And can you imagine if we actually win?

Let me know if interested :)

Sure! I was going to recommend that everyone read a few Deity SGs before we start, so if you have a good one to recommend that'll be great. However, not too much advice, as we want to learn some things the hard way.

EDIT: All players are required to read RBE2 before we start :D

ChrTh,

Add me to the roster. Meet the requirements. I just hope I do not do to much weed duting my turns. It would be sad to have to commit:suicide: on my first diety game.

I have been reading several of the diety SG's including Sirp's diety training game and several of Sulla, LKendters' adventures in diety land.

Ok so far, we have
ChrTh
Space Oddity
Infoman

on board.

Don't worry about :smoke:, I imagine there will be plenty in this game :D
There is a possibility that this game could end pretty quick. If so, we'll start another one. And maybe another one... :)

Heh. That butt-kicking I got in the Babylon GOTM looks like it disqualifies me as I think that was Deity. I'm gonna put this on my list of SGs to watch though as it looks interesting :)

I have read that one before. I will read it again. IIRC, that one is a little rough. Early fighting w/ Zulus and Egypt being quiet large.

Maybe we will not get hammered too bad. I started a game today at lunch (not on diety) that a square that put a city on that had 2 wheat squares on flood plains, 2 more flood plain squares, 1 fish square, and two wine squares in its radius. That is what I call a settler/worker factory.

I will post a screenshot of our starting position and allow a yea/nay vote on it.

EDIT: Not yet, after we have a full roster and are ready to go :)

I will be watching this thread with interest. As I am playing in Sirp's Diety training game, I can not join this one.

As far as making weedy moves, getting called out on them is the best way to learn - Sirp catches one on just about every one of my turns - especially since he goes right after I do.

Keep your cities growing, cave into early demands, check F4 every turn and you are halfway there...

Good Luck

Hi everyone,

If there is still room I'd like to play. I meet all the conditions, i.e. I'm bad enough.

mad-bax, you're in.

I'm out of town until Monday night (American East Coast time)...can someone please keep track of who else wants to join while I'm gone? Once again, I'm looking for 7, and so far we have 4, so only 3 slots left to fill...

Space: You'll just have to engineer a loss through the UN and settle for the highest scoring loss award. ;)
