Cultural Victory Challenge: Thoughts?

One of the things I like about civ 4 is the amazing versatility in ways you can win. I think that is clearly demonstrated in this thread here. We're talking about winning by only cultural victory yet I see at least three separate strategies that people have mentioned. That really speaks to a well-designed game and makes it so much more fun and interesting.

I love doing cultural victories, and can do them regularly on monarch with Gandhi. Spiritual is really a great trait for cultural victories, due to half price temples and the ability to painlessly capitulate to religion and civic demands. Philosophical is great for more great artists.

As for wonders, I generally don't build any. I might have a crack at the parthanon if there is marble available, but I hardly consider it to be crucial. As everybody else already knows well, the key are the big religious buildings which require three temples each (love that spiritual). They will require spreading as many religions to as many of your cities as you can. I almost never actually end up founding them, I just get them spread to me.

I generally tech until I have liberalism, and probably rifling, then turn the culture switch, build troops, and play the waiting game. As the other civs start to out-tech you and gain more power they will be making demands, which you should generally give in to. Again, spiritual is great.

All this talk of radio towers strikes me as funny. I've never teched nearly that far when doing a cultural victory.

Wow, looks like an idea for a challenge turned into a completely different discussion. :)

Anyway, I'm already thinking that Gandhi will be the next person I use to attempt a cultural victory, once the Zara game is finished. I'm hoping to try different routes to show the different means in which a cultural win can be built to.
