Culture Flip rants

Just because you take over a city doesnt mean they want to stay that way. I NEVER loose citys as my culture is always high and the first thing I do when taking over a city is to build a source of culture (A temple). That makes the people happy and it remains mine. End of story. Its not hard. The whole concept is that you dont fight a war if you dont want to institute YOUR culture on your victims. After that keep working on culture. If you take over a city and start producing troops or making conscripts from its populace it will have a rebellion. Just like real life.

Believe me. This works. Ive done 15+ city takeovers in a few turns time and not lost a single one.

Tell that mess to those of us who have lost cities several turns (about 100 so or more yrs) and after crushing the entire civ except for 1-2 cities (usually out on some island) the city just flips out of nowhere and every building you put in there cultural or not is gone along w/ the garrison military. I shouldn't have to leave soldiers outside seized cities for CENTURIES.

Kidkind, you've just been lucky so far. You'll get yours! ;)

I've had cities flip before I got a chance to rush anything, after I've built temple and library and run their culture up some, while the enemy civ is in awe of my culture, and while the entire population of the city was happy! that's why it's so frustrating - there's no rhyme or reason to it.
