Well, all right then.
(a) is the stade Geoffroy Guichard,
(b) - last season they had an all blue away kit, but white with green piping is the traditional one so you can have that.
(c) yeah - 10 times! but the last one was ages ago and they won't be winning it again in the near future.

Mais quand même - allez les verts!

(a) Ajax of Amsterdam
(b) Amsterdam Arena
(c) White shirt with red stripe down the middle - dark blue shirt with red stripe down the middle (used to be but has probably changed since) sponsored by Abn Amro (are they an investment bank or something?)
(d) 27 times!
(e) You've only scored 5 goals this season, but van der Vaart has got 2 of them!

Everything is correct, except for one thing:
the away shirt isn't blue with red, never has been (not the last 10 years). It's shouldn't be hard to find...... http://www.ajax.nl ......

You've only scored 5 goals this season, but van der Vaart has got 2 of them!

Well, we only played 2 Dutch league games, and we scored 3 in those matches. If you give me the right answer for the away shirt (or at least one of the colours of one of the shirts of the past 3 seasons, you can ask the next one

)

All right, it looks like the away shirt is yellow with a blue stripe down the middle. Are you sure that it wasn't blue? Maybe it was grey. It's ages since I used to go camping in France on holiday and would spend ages talking about football with Ajax fans.

Right then:

What is unusual about Manchester United's

away kit this season?

This is a really easy question for any British fanatics, and probably for anyone who knows even a little about football, but it might just catch Willem out - unlikely though

Well, Duke. Ajax' away shirt is now black and grey, last season it was yellow with a blue stripe in the middle, before that it was blue, before that it was black with a grey stripe in the middle, before that it was blue, before that it was.........eeeehhh......Green and yellow, before that it was green.........that's enough I think.

About the asnwer........maybe it isn't white, but some shade of yellow or sand? Or do you mean the fact that Vodafone is the shirtsponsor now (it used to be Carlsberg, right? Or did they change that last season already?)?

I searched the net through google, but the results weren't satisfying. Can't you give me a hint? Is it the material, color, something else?

Erm, I'm not sure how I can give a useful clue without just telling you the answer.
It is to do with the colours though.

Ok, I'll give you the answer then.
The shirt was designed by a fan and is reversible - one side is Man U's second strip and is white, the other side is their third strip and is gold. This is an excellent way for the fans to save money, but it is ironic that Manchester United chose to do this, given the fact that they've had something like 8000 strips in the last 10 years - at one point they had four different shirts in one season. No wonder the fans got annoyed.

Another question:
How many goals were scored in last night's (5th September 2001) European qualifying games for the Japan - Korea World Cup?
It's a lot - Holland got 5 in a morale-boosting destruction of Estonia.

OK, since we haven't ahd an answer yet, and the time that people will be able to look it up in the newspapers of this week is fast ebbing away, I shall give the answer.
There were 73 goals scored in a single night's qualifying action! 73!
Since that makes 2 of my questions in a row unanswered, I'd like willem or whoever gets here first and wants to to ask the next one. Perhaps something other people might get.

Name six nations that have qualified for the World Cup Finals once and only once.

edit: OK, just forget this post. Some stupid little guy forgot to embolden the question

Sorry, I didn't check the thread 'till now. I could've answered, sorry.....

Q: What is the change to Ajax' jersey compared to the jersey of last year?

The change was made after multiple protests of supporter groups.

Another Ajax question - I'm really surprised at you Willem
lol.gif
! I'm tempted to remind you of your first post in this thread, but I don't mind the Ajax questions,as long as they don't get too obscure. I can answer this one just by looking at pictures

.
Erm, not entirely sure about this but have they had the Adidas stripes removed?

I'll be damned! That first post must have been posted in a time in which I didn't care about football for a while (not more than a few minutes). But you're right. Now, to be sure others will post as well, we better do what I proposed in post #1......this thread is a real Willemvanoranje-Duke o' York thread.

Next question is yours.

I just love Ajax!
