Cast a Crooked Spell staring Fred Ward & a sequel, can't remember the name, starring Dennis Hopper, were pastiches set in the H P Lovecraft world with spell, magic, etc, with the main charactor being H P Lovecraft as a film noir dectective.

Reposessed starred Linda Blair & Leslie Nielsen and was amusing.

one of the short skits at one of the MTV movie awards was the final scene from 7 ith William Shatner playing 4 parts: The killer, both dectectives, and the head in the box, it had a green orion slave girl as the delivery person. hilarious.

1) Poltergeist is one horror movie I haven't seen in a looong time. I have no idea. But your question makes me want to see it again now.
